Proper medication handling is essential when supporting seniors and individuals with ongoing health needs. Here are key Blister Pack Guidelines every support worker should follow:

✔️ Handling Blister Packs Correctly
Never alter, remove, or reorganize blister packs. Always verify the client, medication, and correct time before assisting.

✔️ Staying Within Scope of Practice
Support workers may assist and observe, but must not adjust dosages or provide medical advice. Report concerns promptly.

✔️ Applying the 5 Rights of Medication Safety
Always confirm the right client, right medication, right dose, right time, and right route.

✔️ Proper Storage & Hygiene
Store medications in a cool, dry, secure place. Wash hands before assisting and avoid touching pills directly.

✔️ Documentation & Reporting
Accurately record assistance, refusals, missed doses, or side effects and report concerns to the care team.
