Please do not hold me back or restrain me if I am having a Focal Impaired Awareness or Complex Partial Seizure. You should gently guide me away from hazards only if I am in a dangerous or hazardous situation (such as if I am about to wander into a busy intersection). Instead, you should allow me to move freely once I am in a safe environment.

Please do not hold me down or restrain me if I am having a Tonic-Clonic or Grand Mal Seizure because you can bruise or strain my muscles. Instead, you should let my seizure run its course without trying to force it to stop and move me into the recovery position as soon as it is safe to do so.

Would you know what to do if I were to have a seizure in the water? Check out our graphic to learn more about seizure first aid for a seizure that takes place in the water.
