We're pleased to announce Isla and Makenna as the recipients of our 2024 Purple Heart Award for exemplary youth in the epilepsy community. These two young ladies were some of our amazing powerhouses during the 2024 Vancouver Sun Run. In addition to taking part in the 2.5 KM Mini Sun Run with their entire family, they also raised an incredible $2,970 for the BC Epilepsy Society through their very own pledge page by calling on their community of family, friends, and loved ones to donate and participate! The icing on the cake was seeing them and their entire family wearing matching purple epilepsy awareness shirts while doing the race. Congratulations Isla and Makenna!

Image Description: This graphic is split into two halves. The top half features a purple background and white text that reads "Congratulations to Isla and Makenna for being the recipients of our 2024 Purple Heart Award!!" with white versions of the BC Epilepsy Society “Over 60 Years” logo and the I AM A VOICE for Epilepsy Awareness™ logo above the text. The bottom half features photos of Isla and Makenna holding their crystal awards from the BC Epilepsy Society.

We're pleased to announce Ali and Kirsten Pejman as the recipients of our 2024 Champion for Change Award. They know better than most the impact that epilepsy can have, not only on the person who has the condition but on their family, friends, and loved ones which is why they're on a mission to transform epilepsy awareness and care in BC. They are wonderful supporters of the BC Epilepsy Society and have raised an astonishing $3.7 million to help raise epilepsy awareness and bring funds to advance epilepsy care and research for both pediatric and adult epilepsy patients in BC at BC Children’s Hospital and Vancouver General Hospital through the "Pejman & Friends Epilepsy Fellowship and Research Initiative". Congratulations Ali and Kirsten!
