Terry Fox is my favorite Canadian Hero.
Everything about him says grit, determination, hope and resilience. 44 years ago this young man ran 5,373 kilometers between April 12th and September 1st on one leg - that is an unbelievable accomplishment!
The Terry Fox Foundation teamed up with Ryan Reynolds to launch the limited-edition 2024 Terry Fox Run shirt with the tagline to celebrates Terry’s unwavering strength and perseverance no matter what came his way. It's really nice actually and you might want to get one.
To continue his Marathon of Hope, please join us on Sunday September 15 for the Palgrave Terry Fox Run. Starting point this year is Norma Bangay Park - 19 Brawton Drive and registration opens at 8 am. The walk/run starts at 9 am and Palgrave Rotary will be on hand serving pancakes and coffee.

Awesome turnout last night! So excited about my 'run/walk' group as they continue to run longer every week. I am convinced that this is the year (and it would be a first) that the entire group pulls through and get to the 10minute mark.

For anyone completely new to the concept of a NO SUGAR CHALLENGE, here is the short version:
• This is not a diet, but a systematic reduction of added dietary sugars over the course of three weeks.
• The formula is simple: just eat real food, mainly veggies, just enough clean protein, and lots of healthy fats.
• To participate, you have to have daily access to email, commit to submitting a daily food journal and be prepared to set aside extra time for food preparation.
• The goal of this challenge is to reduce dietary sugar intake, balance blood glucose levels, eliminate cravings and teach your body to utilize fat as alternative fuel whenever possible.
• Every morning you will receive an e-mail with information that is specific to what you may be experiencing.
• I will also share questions and stories from the group.
• This is a great opportunity to learn day by day and practice incorporating little changes.

If you are wondering if taking a closer look at sugar in your diet is a good idea, message me for a sugar sensitivity test.

The cost of this challenge is $175 (due by Jan. 21)
