We had fun this week in our Growing Together groups making a variety of scones - plain, raisin and cheese. They all turned out so well and this was a new recipe for the moms, who said they will make them again at home for their families.

Today we give thanks to Jesus for His sacrifice on the cross. Because of Him, we are able to live with hope of eternity. Because of Him, our sins are washed away. And because of Him, grace can have the final say in each of our stories. It is a good Friday, indeed. 💙✨

We have had a busy couple of weeks in our Mom's Growing Together Groups in Dunnville. Thank you to Jane for coming and teaching breadmaking to our moms! Jane bakes bread for our Soup Fest every year. We also made "Mummy's Soup" today, from our special recipe book we created a few years ago, after one of our Soup Fest Events! Delicious bread and soup! !

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came out to celebrate our 20th Annual Spring Banquet last night! It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces - 220 of you, including staff, volunteers and board members! Thank you to MP Leslyn Lewis for sharing a powerful message about how we need to value life, reinforcing our front-line home mission. MPP Bobbi Ann Brady and Mayor Shelley Ann Bentley each had powerful messages and shared their support for the ministry we are called to, each and every day in Haldimand County and sometimes beyond. We shared some of our clients moving and grateful testimonials, together with some updates from HPCFC. The food was delicious, chefs and servers amazing and the music by talented Klayton Vis was very special! Thank you to all our sponsors, donors and supporters who have helped us to raise over $40,000 so far, towards our goal of $50,000. Thank YOU! More photos will follow. It's not too difficult to imagine the feeling of shame the adulterous woman must have felt when she was publicly condemned for her sins.

The consequence for her mistake was severe. She knew that, and so did the men accusing her.

Imagine the way she must have cringed as she waited for Jesus to accuse her, too. But instead of accusing her, He stooped for her. He started writing something - we're not sure what - in the dirt. Whatever He etched there with His fingertip was enough to send everyone away. No stones were thrown that day.

No one had the right to condemn this woman because everyone was equally undeserving of grace. Yet grace came anyway. Grace stooped into the messy and broken pieces of her life and made forgiveness her story.

Let Jesus make forgiveness your story, too. 💙📖
