Coach Kennedy is awesome!

Meet the Team Monday!

✨ Coach Kennedy ✨

I have been coaching group classes and personal training for 10 years - I've done a multitude of personal training courses, CrossFit certifications, nutrition courses and continuing education in hormone health, digestive health and more!

My absolute favourite method of working out is strength training - specifically Olympic Weightlifting! That said, I love going on walks with my dogs, hikes and the very occasional cardio heavy workout (I'll run but I might be the last one back 🤣)

I coach at Conquer because it is the common ground for so many fantastic people. This gym is filled with welcoming, inspiring and supportive folk and I am so proud to call them my "friends" 🥰

My favourite movie is Napoleon Dynamite, and All Star by Smash Mouth gets my heart pumpin'!

I just recently competed at the Ontario Senior Championships for Olympic Weightlifting - I have qualified and earned a few medals Provincially and Nationally in Olympic Weightlifting to date and have my sights set on the opportunity to represent Canada at an International Competition. I'm so close to achieving this and I am shooting for the moon!

Meet the Team Monday!

✨ COACH JEFF ✨

I have worked with people ages 13 to 85 and everywhere in between. I have helped individuals with hip replacements, osteoarthritis, lower back pain, shoulder tendinitis and more, all find exercise they can do to reduce pain, increase strength and improve overall functionality.

My favourite exercise is the single arm dumbbell shoulder press because overhead strength has always been an issue for me and it also helps improve my posture
I coach at conquer because of the people here. We are small but mighty, and seeing and getting to know more about all the people here has made this so much more than a job and a paycheque for me!

My favourite song is (Sittin’ on) the dock of the bay by Otis Redding. But my favourite song to work out to is Sabotage by the Beastie Boys
My fitness goal is simply to continue improving my strength without sacrificing endurance - finding that right balance is a constant challenge, but one that I enjoy. I want to keep taking on new challenges alongside my friends, pushing myself and testing my limits.

This past Saturday Coach Kennedy hosted her SN**CH SEMINAR ✨

Conquer Health and Performance is proud to host monthly seminars for our members (and friends of members!) as an opportunity to work under the guidance of one of our Professional Coaches on special skills - and October's skill was snatches!

Coach Kennedy is a Provincially and Nationally ranked Olympic Weightlifter (and is currently ranked 20th in her weight class across the COMMONWEALTH!) and dedicates all of her spare time to the Olympic Lifts - you'd be hard pressed to find many others around town with as much passion and knowledge for the sport!

Thank you so much to the class attendees for joining in on an hour dedicated exclusively to Sn**ches - any guesses on what November's Seminar is going to be!? 🧐🥳

One of the best ways to manage osteoarthritis is through exercise, specifically strength training.
Yes, it can be difficult and painful to get started, but it actually lessens everyday pain, swelling and discomfort over time, and improves functionality and mobility. Not to mention all the emotional and psychological benefits that come along with it.
