At some point, it stops being “everyone else” and starts being your ears.

Hearing loss doesn’t look like silence. It looks like:

– smiling and nodding
– avoiding loud places
– saying “what?” on autopilot
– pretending you caught the joke

And the longer you ignore it, the more your brain has to compensate.

The good news? You don’t have to guess! Come in for a complimentary hearing test today.

Let’s clear something up… literally.

Earwax removal isn’t scary. It’s not painful. And no… we’re not coming at you with anything dramatic.
Most people wait way too long because they think it’s going to be uncomfortable, but in reality, it’s quick, safe, and honestly… kind of satisfying!

If you’ve been dealing with:
• muffled hearing
• that “blocked” feeling
• ringing or pressure
• constantly turning things up

It might just be wax buildup.

And the best part? Immediate difference. Like “oh wow, I can hear again” type of difference.

If you’re coming in for removal:
Skip the Q-tips (please 🙃)
Just come as you are, we’ll take care of the rest!

A big thank you to Cuff and Billy for having us today.

A small thank you for a big job.

We had an amazing day at the Cuff with the Calgary Police Association, offering ear checks, programming hearing aids, and raising a glass to all that you do!

Age related hearing loss is common and most don’t realize they are losing their hearing.

If you always have subtitles on… it might not just be a preference.

A lot of people say they use captions because it’s “easier to follow”, but what they’re actually relying on is clarity, not volume.

When hearing starts to change, one of the first things affected is how clearly you understand speech, especially with background noise, accents, or fast dialogue. So even if the TV is loud enough, your brain is working harder to fill in the gaps.

Subtitles take that pressure off, which is why they feel so helpful. It doesn’t automatically mean something is wrong, but it can be an early sign your hearing isn’t as sharp as it used to be.

If you’ve noticed yourself depending on captions more and more, it might be time to check in.

Hear me out… I would never do these without hearing protection.
Working in construction, going to concerts, using power tools, or even certain fitness classes can be very damaging.
The tricky part is, it’s not one loud moment… it’s the repetition. Day after day. Weekend after weekend.
And once it’s gone, you don’t get it back.
Protecting your hearing doesn’t mean avoiding what you love, it just means being smarter about how you do it.
If you’re regularly in loud environments, it’s worth checking in.
Book a complimentary hearing test or come in and chat with us about protection options

A lot of people don’t realize this…
Hearing changes don’t just affect what you hear, they affect where you feel comfortable.

You might start avoiding:
-loud restaurants
-crowded events
-busy environments

Not because you can’t hear, but because it’s harder to keep up.

That’s usually one of the first signs, hearing noise becomes more difficult.

If this feels familiar, it’s worth understanding why. Try our quick online hearing test (with headphones) or book a complimentary appointment for a full check!

Moving to a drier climate doesn’t just affect your skin, it can affect your ears too.
In cities like Calgary, the air is significantly drier than in many other places. That change in humidity can impact the ear canal, sometimes leading to dryness, irritation, or changes in earwax buildup. For some people, it can even create a feeling of fullness in the ear or temporary changes in hearing.
It’s one of those things most people never connect to their hearing… but your ears notice the environment around you more than you might think.

If your ears have been feeling a little different since moving to a drier climate, it might be worth checking in.

You can start with our quick online hearing check (make sure you’re using headphones), or come in for a complimentary full hearing test with our team.

Hear Me Out: you’d never walk around with AirPods at full volume all day… right?

But a lot of us are getting pretty close. Between headphones, calls, music, podcasts, and background noise, our ears are working overtime, and it adds up faster than you think.
The tricky part about hearing loss is that it usually happens gradually. Most people don’t notice the changes until conversations start feeling harder to follow or background noise becomes overwhelming.
Your hearing is something you use all day, every day. It deserves the same kind of check-ins you’d give your eyes or your teeth.
If it’s been a while, come in for a complimentary hearing test!

Here’s what most people don’t realize:

Your brain needs consistency.

When hearing aids are worn “sometimes,” your brain never fully adapts, which means more listening effort, more fatigue, and more frustration.
But when do they become part of your everyday routine?
Your brain relaxes and conversations feel easier. If you’ve been treating them like optional accessories, this is your reminder: consistency changes everything.

Stop by our office to make sure your hearing is working for your lifestyle, not against it.
