Diabetes is a chronic health condition that affects how your body turns food into energy. When your blood sugar goes up, your pancreas releases insulin which lets the blood sugar into your cells for use as energy.
With diabetes, your body doesn’t make enough insulin or can’t use it as well as it should. This means too much blood sugar stays in your bloodstream and, over time, this can cause serious health problems, such as heart and kidney disease.
As there is still no cure for Diabetes, your best bet to keeping it under control is to maintain a healthy diet, lose weight and stay active. Make sure to get yourself checked with your doctor and take prescribed medication on time.
Let's educate and raise awareness about Diabetes together.
