Diabetes is a chronic health condition that affects how your body turns food into energy. When your blood sugar goes up, your pancreas releases insulin which lets the blood sugar into your cells for use as energy.

With diabetes, your body doesn’t make enough insulin or can’t use it as well as it should. This means too much blood sugar stays in your bloodstream and, over time, this can cause serious health problems, such as heart and kidney disease.

As there is still no cure for Diabetes, your best bet to keeping it under control is to maintain a healthy diet, lose weight and stay active. Make sure to get yourself checked with your doctor and take prescribed medication on time.

Let's educate and raise awareness about Diabetes together.

Pneumonia is an infection that causes the air sacs in the lungs to fill up with fluid or pus, which makes it harder to breathe. The most common symptoms are cough that may be dry or produce phlegm, fever, chills and fatigue.

Young children and older adults (over age 65) are at the highest risk of getting pneumonia and it is the leading cause of hospitalization and death in children under 5 years old.

It's important to begin treatment for pneumonia as soon as the diagnosis is made. Because the specific cause cannot be determined immediately, doctors almost always prescribe antibiotics initially to cover bacterial infections.

Let's spread the word on the dangers of pneumonia. Understanding the symptoms soon makes all the difference.
