My fav way to cultivate body love is to spend more time listening to it and being in it.
This is not a safe space.
That may land poorly with you, but really I can’t guarantee that you are 100% safe reading this. You might get triggered or bothered or annoyed or re-traumatized etc by what I want to say. That is always true.
And here’s the thing: Triggers are gifts. Yes they are! They are clues into understanding ourselves and our nervous systems more. If something gets to you or sends you into a stress response, then you know that’s where your work is. What can you do so that you are triggered less? Heal so that you are not so fragile to the external world and can interact with a wide range of humans and belief systems.

3 side effects of spending more time in our bodies
When we spend more time listening to and honoring our body it can bring about some neato effects.
1 - you may need to change how you adorn your body
As you notice your body more you may find that clothese that worked for you before stop feeling good on your body.
2 - you become more present
When we are in our body, we are present, in the moment and noticins what is happening in the here and now without trying.
3 - you love your body more
this is by far my favorite effect of spending more time in our body. It organically cultivates a deeper love and appreciation for our body. So important in our body hating culture.
Amidst the darkness in our world, the division, the divide ... through that fray can you see the way for yourself?
Are you able to still hold onto your vision?
Or do you even know what your vision is?
It's a daily practice, stay informed and also don't get stuck into the divide, the culture wars. That is a noble and difficult practice. Am I right? How to keep awakening in this time without getting drawn off course? ... probably we all get drawn a bit off course, but as long as we can course correct.

when we bring these parts of us together, when we allow for a healthy flow of energy through the body, through the mind and emotions and through our connection to something greater - this enriches the experience of each. And in my humble opinion is one of the most important parts of healing.
Have you experienced this? a union or flow between these three parts of yourself?
The spirit, soul, connected part of us. What does that mean to you?
You don't have to be religious or overly spiritual to have a sense of the part of us that is spirit or soul.
We have an amazing body that connects us to the earth as earthly beings and also is a portal for our connection to the divine, to the universe, to that which is greater than us.
When we can connect with the greater than us thing... it brings a sense of wonder and awe and also belonging and humility.
This part of us also brings in so much energy and information, that if unchecked can create congestion and without the healthy flow of this energy can be overwhelming.
Fun questions to think about
- What is your spirit to you?
- Where in your body (if anywhere) do you connect in with that which is greater than you?
- Do you feel a healthy flow of energy through this part of you?
When you think of your mind where is it in your body? Many would say the head... but it also lives in the heart or middle of the body.
So much of what happens in our mind communicates with the heart and vice versa. This is much of what heartmath has shown us. But also intuitively we 'feel' emotion in the heart and that is part of our thinking mind. the emotions.
Regardless as to where you feel your mind, the healthy movement of energy in the mind and our emotions is essential to our health. When we get stuck in our thinking mind, overly rational, overly cognitive about things it hinders our movement and healing. When we can flow with emotion and allow the natural movement of them we feel better, we don't get as stuck.
This is also what makes us human. Our thinking mind and emotions. It impacts how we interact with others and how we feel about ourselves.
By listening deeply to our bodies we can also soothe the mind.
Fun questions to think about
- Where do you locate your 'mind' in your body?
- When you listen deeply, what is your mind doing? Is it still? is it busy? is it scattered?
- Do you feel a natural flow and movement with emotions that arise?
Your body is a wild animal.
We as humans have this amazing physical body which connects us to the earth and is a vessel for connecting with our emotions and with the universe (or god/ goddess/ spirit/ source etc).
When we think of healing on any level, we cannot do this without using the wisdom and grace of our body.
Do you listen and feel into what is present in your body? Its sensations and desires and urges and messages? It is simple and yet so so so healing.
This is what is considered 'somatic' work.

- What is your opinion of your physical body?
- Do you experience love for your body? or if you don't what stops you?
- If your body had something to say to you, what would it be?
- Do you actually spend time in your body?

What a wild month!
No words for the level of shake up, shake down, uncomfy transformation, seeing into the darkest corners. Anyone else feeling that?
In times like this I surrender to my practice, meditation, dance and more. I've been working with goddess energy quite a lot this past year and am currently in more training and immersion into goddess work with my teacher Harshada
It's been a transformative practice for me to tap into the divine feminine in this way. I love sharing this and did some of that at our last meditation and movement event AND the next one is coming up!
It is going to be working with accessing the inner goddess in us all. Tapping into her energy to see where that takes us all and how it transforms your experience.

Are you feeling all the things right now? The world is a tad nuts, it's going through a massive change. Which is exciting and scary and lots of other things.
I have a secret: dancing helps. Not structured orderly dancing (that probably helps a bit too) but what I'm talking about is free, expressive, explorative movement of the body. It does wonders to our systems - nervous system 'regulation', emotional regulation/ reset, and the physical body loves it.
The power of dance medicine is in moving out of the usual movement - and as we move in new ways we create space in the body, mind and soul. It is both an inner embodied experience and an outer expansive expression of self that stimulates our innate creativity. The result is a profoundly healing and enlightening practice.

No matter what 'side of history' you are on.

If you've hurt others, or stolen something or were late for work.
If you aren't the perfect parent or owe too much money or have trouble with your relationships.
If you are vaccinated or unvaccinated or liberal or conservative or mad or sad or happy.
You are loved no matter what. It's there for you always. And don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
And when I say you are loved, I mean from the infinite unconditional love that is available to us all at anytime.
And please please please remember that all of us are loved and are worthy of this love. No matter how evil you may think the other is. They too are loved so much.
Question: How much do you allow yourself to feel pleasure in your daily life?
Like really? Deeply connect with pleasure in your body? It's oddly something in our culture that we tend to not allow.
I have a secret that I figured out. One way to really cultivate a wild love for your body is to allow and to cultivate pleasure. You might think erotic, yes that too, but also ANY pleasure. Enjoying a yummy food item, putting on slippers, softening your belly. There's no right answer to it. Whatever feels good to you.
For me, I have to remember to allow pleasure in. Make it a practice. A wonderful practice.

Unite in love. I know I keep posting this. But I think it's so important.
We are connected and so we are already united in love. On some level we are. We just have to open up to it. To feel into it and maybe see it?

When I dance, when I meditate - its allows me access to this truth. That is one reason why I'm so passionate about this stuff.
The world is full of chaos and full of beauty.
It's a show out there, a wild ride, an exciting time to be alive. 2022 is showing up big time as a transformative year.

AND as we tap into this energy we get strengthen a deep connection with ourselves. Our purpose and how we want to be impacting the world.

Saturday Feb 12, 2022 - perfect V-day weekend activity
I believe what is happening right now in our world is accelerating the awakening from this illusion of separateness. In the extreme of separation (which is what seems like is happening at the moment) We are pushed to see that we are all one, we are all connected.
If you feel that other people are horrible, wrong, evil... can you stop and see their humanity as well? Can you tap into the fact that you and them are part of the same? It's painful and hard and requires ultimate humility and patience. I strive to do this everyday. And it's tough work.

It's always there. We can have it at anytime. I love this quote as it reminds me to 'let it produce joy'. Almost like we are holding back on the joy, which I know has been true for me.
Are you letting it in?
We need some more of it in general in our world right now. So if you are protesting - do it with joy. if you are working in a hospital - do it with joy. If you are caring for your sick kids - do it with joy. etc...
I also find dancing helps for joy access. We can dance while we work right? Let's normalize dancing at work!

There's so much healing and learning we can do as we lean into this energy. I have gained so much from these practices.
