Two people can go through the same experience and carry it very differently.

Trauma isn’t defined only by the event itself; it’s shaped by how our nervous system, emotions, relationships, and sense of safety are impacted afterward.

Healing begins when we stop asking:
“What’s wrong with me?”
and start asking:
“What happened to me?”

If this resonates with you, you are not alone. 💛

Meet Stephanie 💚

Stephanie is a Registered Psychologist at Eclipse Psychology in Calgary.

Her approach is grounded in the belief that people already hold the capacity for healing within themselves. Rather than fixing problems, she walks alongside you as a steady supportive coach who helps you notice patterns, explore difficult emotions, and create meaningful change.

Her work is client led and informed by training in Internal Family Systems IFS, Accelerated Resolution Therapy ART, and the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy. Her style is structured, creative, and research informed, and she works well with older teens, adults, and couples.

In session, Stephanie blends practical tools for relief with deeper exploration of the experiences shaping how you think, feel, and relate, supporting insight, awareness, and lasting change.

She supports individuals and couples navigating:
• anxiety
• people pleasing and perfectionism
• burnout
• relationship distress

Therapy with Stephanie is a space for clarity and depth.
A space to slow down and understand what is beneath the surface

This work is not about having all the answers.
It is about feeling supported, challenged, and empowered as you move toward a life that feels more aligned with who you are 💚

How many relationship arguments are actually about expectations that were never clearly communicated?

A lot more than people realize.

One of the most common patterns we see in therapy is resentment building around needs that were never directly expressed. Over time, silence gets interpreted as disinterest, lack of care, or emotional distance — when sometimes the other person genuinely doesn’t understand what’s needed.

That doesn’t make your feelings invalid.
But it does mean communication matters.

A difficult but important question:
Have you clearly said the thing you’re upset about?

(And to be clear: this does NOT apply to abusive, manipulative, or unsafe relationships. Safety always comes first.)

Healthy communication isn’t about mind-reading.

It’s about creating opportunities for understanding, repair, and connection.

Healing doesn’t erase the pain we’ve lived through — it transforms it.

Sometimes the very places we’ve been hurt become the source of our deepest strength, compassion, resilience, and growth.

Your wounds are not proof that you are broken. They may be the doorway to becoming more fully yourself.

Meet Karin 🩷

Karin is a Registered Psychologist at Eclipse Psychology, based in Calgary.

Her approach to therapy is collaborative and client-centered, grounded in the belief that you are the expert of your own life and already hold the capacity for change within you.

Karin supports clients in moving beyond just thinking about their experiences and into a fuller awareness of their emotions, body, and lived experience. Together, you’ll explore patterns, build insight, and develop tools that feel meaningful and sustainable in everyday life.

Therapy with Karin is relationship first.
A space to feel safe.
A space to show up as you are, without pressure to have it all figured out.

She works with both children and adults, integrating creative and flexible approaches such as EMDR, parts work, and strengths-based therapy. This can include play, art, and other expressive methods to support resilience, coping, and self-understanding.

She supports individuals navigating:
• attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) & neurodivergence
• emotion regulation challenges
• trauma & early life experiences
• anxiety, depression, and grief

Karin also brings a deep respect for each person’s cultural identity and lived experience, thoughtfully weaving this into the work in a way that feels affirming and supportive.

Together, you might gently take things apart to better understand them, then begin to rebuild in a way that truly fits who you are and what you need.

This work is not about having all the answers.
It is about feeling understood, supported, and empowered as you move toward the life you want 🩷

Have you ever wondered why you sometimes feel intensely anxious, emotionally shut down, hyper-alert, or stuck in people-pleasing patterns — even when part of you knows you’re safe?

This is often connected to something called the Window of Tolerance — the range where our nervous system can stay regulated enough to think clearly, feel grounded, and cope with stress effectively.

When stress, trauma, burnout, or chronic overwhelm push us outside that window, our nervous system shifts into survival responses like:
• Fight or flight
• Freeze/shutdown
• Fawning/people-pleasing

These responses are not signs of weakness. They are adaptive patterns your nervous system learned to help protect you.

The encouraging part: the nervous system can also learn safety.

With awareness, support, grounding skills, and therapy, it’s possible to expand your window of tolerance and feel more connected, regulated, and in control over time.

This can feel counterintuitive.

Many of us have learned that change comes from pushing harder, fixing what feels wrong, or becoming someone different. But that pressure often keeps us stuck.

Real change tends to begin somewhere quieter.

It starts with noticing what’s here. Your thoughts, your patterns, your emotions. Not rushing to judge or get rid of them. From that place of understanding, something shifts. There is more space. More flexibility. More choice.

Acceptance is not giving up.
It is creating the conditions for change to actually happen.

In therapy, this can look like learning to relate to yourself with more honesty and less criticism, especially in the moments that feel messy or uncertain.

Because when you can meet yourself as you are, you are no longer fighting against yourself.

And that is often where meaningful change begins.

Meet Erin 💛

Erin is a Registered Psychologist at Eclipse Psychology, based in Calgary.

Her work is grounded in a simple but powerful question:
You’ve done everything you were supposed to do… so why doesn’t it feel the way you thought it would?

Erin supports adults and teens who feel stuck in the in-between, navigating identity shifts, life transitions, and the “messy middle” of midlife. From the outside, life may look full. Internally, something can feel off, disconnected, or unclear.

Her approach to therapy is practical, down-to-earth, and collaborative. She draws from evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Narrative Therapy to help clients explore the stories they’ve been carrying about who they are and how life should look.

Therapy with Erin is a space to slow down.
To reflect on what feels out of alignment.
And to begin reshaping your life in a way that feels more authentic and meaningful.

She supports individuals navigating:
• identity shifts and midlife transitions
• burnout and people-pleasing patterns
• relationship changes and challenges
• anxiety, depression, and grief
• balancing roles, responsibilities, and expectations

Together, you’ll make space for difficult emotions while building a new relationship with your thoughts and experiences. This work isn’t about having all the answers, but it’s about creating flexibility, clarity, and a stronger sense of direction.

With a background in psychology and over a decade of experience in adult learning, Erin brings both reflection and practicality into the therapy space, helping you connect insight to real-life change.

If you’re open to exploring what’s ahead, you don’t have to figure it out alone 💛

Meet Laura 💜

Laura is a Registered Psychologist and founder of Eclipse Psychology, based in Calgary.

Her approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that each person is the expert on their own life. She meets clients where they are with curiosity, care, and respect for the experiences that have shaped them.

With over a decade of counselling experience, Laura works from a psychodynamic and attachment based lens. Together with her clients, she explores patterns beneath the surface and how past experiences, especially in relationships, may still be influencing how they think, feel, and relate today.

Therapy with Laura is a space to slow things down.
To notice what is coming up.
And to begin making sense of it in a deeper, more compassionate way.

She supports individuals navigating:
• anxiety and depression
• trauma and family of origin experiences
• substance use
• relationship challenges
• self esteem

Her work integrates approaches such as EMDR (EMDRIA certified), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, always tailored to each individual.

This work is not about fixing.
It is about developing a deeper understanding of yourself and creating space for change in a way that feels safe and sustainable.

If you have been thinking about starting therapy, this could be a supportive place to begin 💜
