So..I share A LOT of music..
Usually what I am dancing to,
or what has got me going that day/afternoon/evening
But I wanted to FINALLY share my YouTube HEALING Playlist
that I put together when I was going through cancer Tx last March/April 2023.
I found out ~maybe the 2nd-ish week of my essentially
DAILY (M-F anyway) Radiation Treatments
that I could actually REQUEST a song to be played in the CT room while I was getting my treatment done!
And I decided to do that.
Plus, the radiation techs were a bit younger than me,
& I requested a song that day, that I found out I could pick my own music (b/c they were playing something I HATED..& was like..UGH..what it this..& they said, oh, we can change it..)
& they had never heard of the artist, or song,..
So I decided to also make it my mission to intro them to some good tunes & music, everyday, while I was there!
Sine I'm getting cancer treatment, I might as well share some good music & help me get through it all, along the way!
Now, I showed the mask that they used to STRAP me down to the CT bed & it was VERY unpleasant, but got worse at Tx went along & I had more edema in my face & neck from the treatments,
As well as once I had an allergic reaction to my 2nd chemo session on March 28th (my 3rd week of Tx), I had to also get a Feeding Tube put in, & it goes into your nostril, down your throat to your stomach, but they had to cut a wee hole as well in the mask, so that the feeding tube wouldn't compress against my face.
So. the term "really REALLY uncomfortable", doesn't describe it fully.
I found out that I could pick song around or close to St. Patricks Day..so I chose to go with a theme-ish for each week.
And sorta started with some Celtic stuff (that is what is missing I think, b/c I wasn't racking accurately, yet)
And of course with Chemo brain, I might have forgotten something, since I didn't start making the YouTube playlist right away.
I do have ONE SONG - that was my Monday song.
Every. Monday.
So I wouldn't have to think, after coming off sleeping all weekend, resting & attempting to recover a bit, from the previous weeks treatments that compounded side effects, every day, & then every week.
That song is: "The Boomtown Rats - I Don't Like Mondays (Live Aid 1985)"
So when you listen to this Playlist, you have to put this song in, every 4 songs.
As it's the Monday Song, & then I had a theme for Tuesday-Friday's songs.
I picked it, as I normally LOVE Monday's
(or sometimes don't even know what day it is, that it is Monday,
b/c as an entrepreneur with my own businesses, I don't care what day of the week it is..
ALL days are ALL AWESOME..& I don't have Monday hate/gotta go to a "job", Wednesday/"Hump Day"/just making it thru vibes..or
FriYAY.. OMG..I'm done, it's the weekend...b/c EVERY DAY is a new opportunity to do better,
Be better..& Rock it..)
Now, some songs have dropped off & I do need to do some playlist clean up & maintenance .so it may not match up perfectly.
(And I will fix & update that, likely in early May, finally).
But I still wanted to share it now.
It also ENDS on the song..
*** Dropkick Murphys - "Going Out In Style" (Official Video) ***
At least as far as the songs played during my Tx go.
I actually picked that right away, during Celtic week, as my end song, & then worked backwards for the songs I wanted in my last week.
(So if anything is out of order, you can go to that song, & that week, the last 4 songs are the ones from my last week of treatment,
April 17th - April 21st, 2023 & of course the Monday Song..)
I then kept adding other songs after that I loved,
or thought I would have listened to, IF I had more Tx.
Or just inspire me..or songs or artists that I would intro those techs too.
(I do wish some of the local artist I know had music on YubTube, as I would have included those as well..)
And I listen to this playlist, still.
Quite regularly, as a pick-me-up, inspiration, or just b/c I REALLY LOVE all the songs on it.
And then add to it, if I remember a trax that just makes me happy.
I hope it will bring some light & inspiration into your world..
Listening to it as well.
Enjoy.
