You’ve likely already heard about, or possibly even met, our new Occupational Therapist, Lindsay Delima. We’re beyond thrilled to have her on the team and have enjoyed immensely getting to know her and her clinical approach.
Let us tell you a bit about this wonderful human and brilliant therapist.
Lindsay is a passionate and dedicated pediatric occupational therapist with a wealth of experience spanning over seven years. Her expertise includes the SOS Approach to Feeding, which focuses on the sensory aspects of feeding difficulties and supports children in developing a positive relationship with food. She is also trained in the Beckman Oral Motor protocol, providing specialized interventions for oral motor challenges that impact speech, feeding, and overall oral function.
In addition, Lindsay has a strong foundation in sensorimotor approaches, employing strategies that integrate sensory and motor activities to enhance a child’s overall development. Her holistic approach considers the intricate connection between sensory processing, motor skills, and cognitive functions. Throughout her career, Lindsay has dedicated herself to working with children facing various developmental challenges, including sensory processing disorders, fine and gross motor delays, and difficulties in activities of daily living (feeding, dressing, toileting, etc.). Her clinical settings have ranged from school settings to private practices, allowing her to tailor interventions to the diverse needs of her clients.
Lindsay is known for her compassionate and child-centered approach. She collaborates closely with families, educators, and other healthcare professionals to create comprehensive treatment plans. Her interventions extend beyond clinical sessions, often incorporating play-based activities and home exercises to ensure sustained progress.
