Screen time gets a bad rap…but it’s not all bad. In fact, when used intentionally, screens can offer connection, creativity, and even learning opportunities. The key? Balance, not perfection.
As caregivers, it’s okay to use screen time to get through the day. We all do it. But if you're looking to create healthier habits, here are a few simple tips that make a big difference:
✨ Set screen-free zones: like during meals, family time, or bedtime.
✨ Give a heads-up before transitions: try: “5 more minutes, then we’ll turn it off.”
✨ Watch together when possible: co-viewing helps your child process what they’re seeing and turns solo screen time into connection time.
✨ Model healthy tech habits: your own relationship with screens shapes theirs more than you think.
Remember, your child doesn’t need zero screens. They need boundaries, connection, and plenty of time for movement, play, and imagination.
You're doing great. It’s okay to start small. ❤️
