Today, May 5th, is Red Dress Day. It is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S).

At Through the Woods Psychology, we recognize the profound and ongoing impact of this systemic injustice on Indigenous communities. We stand in solidarity to honor the lives lost, support the families left behind, and emphasize the importance of collective healing and advocacy.

We encourage everyone to take time today to listen, learn, and reflect on how we can all contribute to a safer and more just future.

You can't pour from an empty cup. ☕️✨

In the rush of daily life, it’s easy to forget that self-care isn't a luxury—it's a necessity. Whether it's five minutes of meditation, a quick walk outside, or simply slowing down to breathe, these small acts are what keep us grounded and resilient. 🌲

Ways to Refill:
* Meditate to clear the mind.
* Slow down and find your pace.
* Go for a walk to move your body.
* Make time to play and find joy.
* Be creative in your own way.
* Get some fresh air to reset.
* Write in a journal to process your thoughts.

We are here to support you on your wellness journey whether that's with mental illness, burnout, relationship difficulties, and more!

Overwhelm doesn't just feel heavy—it can be paralyzing. When the mental noise gets too loud, sometimes the best thing you can do is stop trying to "solve" it and start trying to regulate it.

Our latest tool, the Overwhelm Wheel, is designed to give you a moment of pause. Depending on what you need in the moment, you can try:

Soothing: For when your nervous system needs a hug. 🧘‍♂️

Distracting: To give your brain a much-needed break from the spiral. 🎧

Reframing: To change the lens you’re looking through. 🔍

Accepting: To meet your feelings with compassion instead of resistance. ❤️

Harnessing: To turn that energy into insight or growth. 🌱

Shifting: To reconnect with the bigger picture. 🗺️

Which section do you need to "land on" today?

Pink Shirt Day is more than just wearing a color—it’s about raising awareness for the harm bullying causes and fostering a culture of support. 👚✨

At Through the Woods Psychology, we believe that mental wellness starts with a safe environment. Join us in wearing pink today to show that bullying has no place in our schools, workplaces, or communities.

Bullying isn't just "part of growing up"—it can lead to significant anxiety, depression, and social isolation. Today, we wear pink to symbolize our commitment to empathy, kindness, and building a community where everyone feels safe to be themselves.

If you or someone you know are facing mental health challenges relating to bullying, we are here to support you!
