I believe this is an amazing practice to have so that we may bring the gratitude of others into our own lives.
In our times of difficulty, simply reminding ourselves of these important people can make all the difference in how we start our day.

Set the table of your life…. What does your table look like now?

Six years ago we were getting things in order to create a day of closure and healing for my mother’s life. My mum didn’t want anything after she died, didn’t want a fuss, but I assured her that it wouldn’t be in a stuffy funeral home and that no one would be preaching the gospel the entire time. I had her blessing to go ahead with plans after she passed. Writing her eulogy with my sister we had the tears flowing. Writing our own story about our life with mum was very healing for me. The day came to celebrate her life, and I have to tell you all it was a great day! A day of connecting with others , sharing in the laughter and the stories. Family members that haven’t seen or talked to each other in decades had a safe space to be able to do so. Death is very hard and we all deal with it in different ways. We all grieve in our own way and if you can understand what you need to help heal from your losses it will alllow you to keep on living.

Love is the liquid gold that helps us make sense of the senseless and cope with life and death. It brings meaning to this existence.
When I am working, I am in a place of love. I speak with love, and I listen with love.

Who else is excited about Season 3 coming out TOMORROW?!

After Life is equal parts tenderness and dark humor which, in my eyes, is perfection. It isn’t afraid to show how dark grief can be, but always manages to find moments of levity just when you need it.

Shows like After Life normalize grief and death. They provide us with opportunities to connect with our own feelings as well as initiate conversations with others about our experiences.

What shows that cover topics of death and grief do you find yourself relating to? Is there a downside to the rise in content on these topics?

Dying wise is immensely hard labor
We suffer in our dying time; we think dying is what happens to us, to our bodies. Dying is not what happens to you, dying is what you do.
We deserve much better that what we get. Dying will ask more of dying people than should be asked of them. Having medical interventions that can pro long life, but at what cost and for what kind of life.
The hard labor comes from the work we put into ourselves while living so that when the time comes to do our job and die, we do it with great love and flare.
To be grateful of all the things that not only benefit us but that don’t benefit us at all. Life requires death to be able to continue on, death feeds everything that lives.

Walk firmly in your life right now. ❤️💀

Dying wise is Spiritual Activism❤️

We don’t question the life cycle of the plant world as we tend to our gardens, we cooperate with it. When it is time for the plants to die we accept this season of death.
The seasons of most human lives takes place over a much longer arc of time, yet many has been born and lived it’s life within the cycle of one rotation of earth or less.
No amount of medical intervention will change this. It was their time to die.
These lives of ours, these souls of ours cycle through their seasons.
Seeing the end of your life is the birth of your ability to love being alive. In a way that we all know things won’t always be there will determine how we die, and how our children and our children’s children will die.
Existence for our love of life is in the fact that it will end. We give back in our time of death for others to take away.

Dying wise is an act of Love. ❤️

Preparing for our death is a radical act of love for ourselves and for those close to us who live on after we are gone.
Dying is our job description and if we can die well we can give back the love, the peace, and the acceptance to the ones we care most about. In doing this, we allow others to continue to live their life not in fear of death and dying, but to embrace it as everyday living.
Dying wise is an act of love for ourselves and all who is apart of it, for generations to come. 💀
