CUPS Calgary

CUPS Calgary Through integrated programs and services, CUPS, supports Calgarians facing poverty, adversity, and trauma to create lasting change and stability.

CUPS provides integrated support in the areas of Healthcare, Basic Needs & Housing, and Family & Child services to low-income Calgarians living with the adversity of poverty and traumatic events. While our work is rooted in the science of brain development, our passion is helping people effectively address their challenges, build stability and ultimately improve overall wellbeing.

Welcome to our new series taking you on a tour of CUPS’ Community Health Centre.

First up: the Welcome to CUPS space (Triage 1). This is often the first point of connection for clients, and where they can get connected to the programs and services that best support their needs.

Stay tuned for more tours coming soon to give you an in depth look at the different areas of the CUPS building!

Call out for Medical Chair donation!

CUPS is seeking three or more medical recliner chairs with tray tables for use in our health clinic to support client care.

To support infection prevention and client safety, chairs must be in good conditions (no rips or damage), and easy to wipe down and sanitize.

If you know of a clinic, health centre, or organization with extra chairs they may be willing to donate, we’d love to connect. Pickup can be arranged if needed.

Please send us a message or tag someone who might be able to help.

Thank you for supporting compassionate, dignified care at CUPS.

Looking for a New Year’s resolution that gives back?

Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) is Canada’s largest winter fundraising walk, bringing communities together to raise awareness and funds in support of people experiencing homelessness and vulnerability.

On February 28th, 2026, CUPS Calgary is proud to host our first-ever CNOY walk, raising funds to support our inner-city, non-profit Community Health Centre.

This family-friendly, community-focused event invites participants to walk together in solidarity, recognizing the challenges many face during Calgary’s coldest months.

And don’t forget: when you get a head start and raise $150 or more ($75 if you’re under 18), you’ll receive a limited-edition 2026 CNOY toque as a thank-you for your impact.

Registration is free! Grab your team and make giving back part of your 2026 goals.

Today we’re sharing the story of Emilee, a former CUPS client who was supported through our Family and Child Development Centre.

Emilee’s journey from accessing support to now leading peer support groups at CUPS is a powerful example of growth, resilience, and connection.

Thank you, Emilee, for sharing your story and for using your lived experience to support, guide, and inspire others.

Today, we gather alongside foundation for the Longest Night of the Year, a memorial service honouring those who have passed away while experiencing homelessness in Calgary.

The names shared here are CUPS clients we have lost this past year, just some of the many that will be honoured today. We carry them with us every day, holding their stories, their lives, and their humanity close.

This memorial is a time to come together to grieve, to show compassion, and to honour people who mattered deeply to our community.

It also speaks to the urgent need to address the realities faced by those experiencing homelessness. One name is one too many.

There will be drop-in services today from 1–5 p.m. at the Homeless Memorial (107 13 Ave SE), with the list of names read at 4 p.m.

Yesterday, we were thrilled to celebrate the spirit of giving and the 17th year of collaboration between Red Express and CUPS Calgary.

Red Express founder Tyler Chisholm delivered gifts yesterday from Castle Toys and extra supports for parents and children connected to CUPS’ Family and Child Development Centre.

The CUPS FCDC also hosted a magical holiday party, complete with festive activities and a special visit from Santa himself. Seeing children and families smiling reminds us why this season is so special.

Thank you to Red Express for 17 incredible years of collaboration, and to all the generous donors who helped make this year unforgettable.
