Did you know I offer Injection therapy 💉

An intramuscular injection is a way to bypass the digestive system and inject nutrients into a muscle for 100% absorption of those nutrients. I often use IM injections to improve energy, support the immune system, weight loss, PMS symptoms, or to reduce stress and anxiety. I also provide Mesotherapy, where I inject hyaluronic acid into lips, acne scars, or fine lines and wrinkles for a natural collagen boost.

If you are not great at taking pills or you forget to take them, IM injections can be a great alternative. Book in to see if injection therapy is right for you!

Why did I become a Naturopathic Doctor? My own health journey is what brought me to this amazing career.

Growing up as a competitive athlete, I had a strict diet, was exercising daily, and doing all of the right things, however, I didn't feel right. I was suffering with acne, bloating (the type of bloating where I looked 6 months pregnant), fatigue and was told all my labs are “normal". My mom decided to take me to a naturopathic doctor to get some answers since the conventional medical system was not helping me.

I found out I was very sensitive to gluten and dairy, had high estrogen levels and a B vitamin deficiency. After a few months of hormone balancing and gut healing — all of my symptoms went away. I finally had my energy back and felt like myself again. My skin was clear and the bloating was gone! It blew my mind that this simple fix was all I needed, yet no other health care provider was able to give me these answers. I saw great value in this type of medicine as it changed my life for the better. I knew right then that I wanted to pursue a career as a naturopathic doctor and it became a passion of mine to help others the same way my naturopath helped me.

Although there are many benefits to our current health care system and I am grateful we live in a country that has access to universal healthcare, there are some limitations. Naturopathic Doctors are able to spend a full hour with you and can investigate your health further by running comprehensive panels to find the root cause of your complaints. We practice preventative medicine and will individualize each treatment plan to what your body needs. We have a large tool box of alternative treatment plans such as diet and lifestyle changes, vitamin and nutrient support, herbal medicine and yes — sometimes medications are required! Most naturopathic doctors are not anti-conventional medicine, but we can fill the gaps in our current system.

Have you been told you are fine, but you don't feel fine? I became a naturopathic doctor because I want to help you get answers. I love being a naturopathic doctor and helping you become the best version of yourself for you and your family 🤎

It’s been a while since I have re-introduced myself on here!

Hi, I'm Dr. Karlee!

Born and raised in Calgary, I grew up figure skating and playing competitive fast-pitch softball and was exposed to naturopathic medicine through my own health journey during this time. Having experienced how addressing the root cause of my health concerns changed my life, it has inspired me to help others in the same way.

I have a passion for treating hormonal imbalances, acne, PCOS, endometriosis, thyroid issues, anti-aging medicine, skin complaints, weight management, fertility, menopause, digestive concerns, mood and sleep optimization, stress management, and burnout and fatigue.

I follow a “test, do not guess” approach with all of my patients to find the root cause of your complaints. I offer a wide variety of functional lab testing to get a comprehensive understanding of your health. The body is a complex, interconnected system and often functional lab testing is recommended, especially when it comes to hormonal and digestive health issues. If you have been told your labs are “normal”, but you don’t feel normal — this is your sign to book in with me!

Leading an active lifestyle to helps me maintain a healthy work-life balance. My pups Penny and Wallen keep me walking near the river daily, but you can also find me hiking and snowboarding in the mountains, doing a yoga/spin/F45 class, playing volleyball, spending time with friends and family, or travelling the world whenever possible. Country music soothes my soul.

I look forward to working with you soon! I am currently accepting new patients at . I am able to provide naturopathic services to all Alberta residents, either in-person or via telemedicine! ✨💗

Let's talk about Stool Testing 💩

Research has shown that the gut microbiome plays a major rule in mediating the effects of our overall health including digestive, immune metabolic and neuroendocrine functions. We often refer to gut health as your “second brain” or maybe you have heard of the gut-brain connection. The gut microbiome plays a role in the production of neurotransmitters, hormones, and immune function and therefore may a root cause to your ailments. Luckily you can access your entire microbiome with a stool test!

The GI Advance Microbiome Profile by US Biotek tests 120 markers of viral and bacterial pathogens, parasites and worms, autoimmune triggers, fungi and yeast overgrowth, normal bacteria and microflora, along with intestinal gut markers to understand your full gut health. This technology uses PCR, ELISA, macroscopic and culture methods with a turnout of 14 business days.

Book in with me if you would like to get a full microbiome assessment and optimize your gut-brain health! 🧠 💩
