I’m proud to present my work in development of a one of a kind Functional Neurological Disorder treatment program here in Calgary. With my esteemed colleagues, we created a multidisciplinary treatment program to serve a misunderstood and neglected patient population. Although our sample is small, we know from our experience outside of this study, this treatment program is beneficial and should be replicated across Canada.

The first day of the Functional Neurological Disorder Society Meeting in Verona, Italy! Technically day “0” before the conference kicks off. A workshop day focused on practical rehabilitation strategies and problem solving.

What do Blake Shelton and I have in common? We are both featured in the Cleveland Clinic publication: “New thinking about thinking”. This publication is distributed to patients and donors of the centre in Las Vegas. The story highlights my time at the Lou Ruvo centre for brain health where I spent a week learning more about multiple sclerosis. I was awarded a scholarship by the consortium of multiple sclerosis centres and am proud to share my experience in this story!

I managed to sneak in some fun along the way during my stay in Las Vegas! My first helicopter ride over the Las Vegas strip out to Red Rock. Happy to have my feet back on the ground to get back to work (even if we have snowy ground in YYC 😎).

Thank you to the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centres Susan E Bennett Rehabilitation Specialty Training Program. Because of this scholarship and the support of my ANC team, I was able to spend the week with the staff at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Centre for Brain Health in Las Vegas. I learned more about Multiple Sclerosis and how to deliver excellent rehabilitation which will benefit my patients living with MS.

Thankful to the CMSC for awarding me the amazing opportunity to join the MS clinic at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Centre for Brain Health in Las Vegas for the week.
I understand I’m missing some snow back home so I am grateful for my beautiful morning walks to the clinic. See you next week.

The end of an era. After 12 years of working for Alberta Health Services I have made the difficult decision to resign. I leave the most dedicated and passionate health care providers on the planet and look forward to growing with my own private work.
I am thankful for every single coworker and patient I had the pleasure to work with.
I am grateful I have skills to share in the private practice world.
I leave SHC with the biggest group of amazing friends a girl could ever dream of (who throw the best parties 🎉). I will always hold a special place in my heart for SHC 💚💙💛. Onward and upward.
