i am so excited to announce my new practice! meet tizzy psychology.⁣

i wanted to create a space and brand that spoke to the core of who i am as a person, the type of work that i do, and the values that are infused into my work with clients.⁣

my office is in the beltline (and freaking cute if i may say so). i am offering both daytime and evening sessions, so if you are ready to start therapy or know of some individuals who would be a good fit, i would love to talk.⁣

my specializations have not changed, and i continue to prioritize offering therapy for men, high achievers, those struggling with emotional wellness, relationship challenges, and trauma (using brainspotting).⁣

at tizzy psychology, i focus on:⁣
✽ honest, authentic conversations⁣
✽ blending evidence-based methods with authenticity and humor⁣
✽ embracing our emotions as a strength, not a weakness⁣
✽ cultivating relational intimacy through vulnerability and trust⁣
✽ fostering self-trust and inner wisdom⁣
✽ recognizing your intrinsic worth beyond roles and achievements⁣

if you’re ready to embark on a journey of growth and self-discovery, let’s connect and see how tizzy psychology can support you in living your most authentic life.⁣

the vast majority of us are FANTASTIC at focusing on the gap between what we want/our goals/idealized life and our reality. the truth is that the more we do this, the more we fuel a mindset saturated in scarcity.
so, take a step back and notice where the heck you came from - where you started. notice the little changes, wins, or accomplishments that a past version of you would be so proud of.
change occurs over time, and there is always room for more — so I encourage you to practice getting acquainted with and celebrating the journey along the way.

happy hump day friends :)

HELLO. this is my face, in case you forgot what I looked like.

I have been in a really self-reflective place lately and wanted to share some of my musings.

yes, being a therapist is my job, but god, it is also so much more.

having a genuine relationship with my clients is so so so important to me. I see so much of myself in my clients and often have stood where you stand more times than I can count. and that is one of the things that I love the most about this work — the shared humanity and experiences that tie us all together.

at the end of the day, we are all just messy and complex little human beings trying to figure out this thing called life.

so, if you find yourself in my office or in my life in any capacity — please know that I want you to feel safe to bring your whoooole self, and I will do the same. there are so many things in life that lead us away from our authenticity, and I hope that my presence in your life isn’t one of them.

sending you love and a little silliness.
have an incredible day :)

as a therapist, I am blessed to hold this kind of space for my clients, and to help them learn how to hold this space for themselves.

connecting in this way is really all about allowing yourself to be truly seen by another person. letting them see what lies beneath the surface of the perfectly curated mask you put on from day to day.

i have seen firsthand the ways in which not talking about emotions during childhood can lead to difficulties with emotions in adulthood. many of us are raised in environments where emotions are not discussed or validated, and as a result, we may struggle to understand and manage our own emotions as we grow older.

when we are not taught how to identify and express our emotions, it can be difficult for us to communicate our feelings to others.
emotions that are not acknowledged or processed can build up and have negative impacts on our relationships, mental health, and self-esteem.

if this is you, you are not alone. learning to become more comfortable navigating your emotions is a process, but certainly, one worth embarking on.

life is complex.

over time, we gain insight into our past and see things that we missed the first time, or maybe even just chose to ignore. we notice our blind spots, ignorances, biases, or anything of the sort.

i challenge you to consider what happened, why the outcome left you wanting more, and make changes that incorporate this knowledge. you can only control what you do right now, and no amount of reflecting on the past will change what is already done.

when thinking about the future, it is important to recognize that you can not control everything. when we try to do so, we often lose sight of what is important to us and get weighed down in the story we tell ourselves about what might happen.

i challenge you to focus on what you can do at this very moment to push you towards your goals and the future that you want. the challenges that arise along the way are likely manageable and maybe even worth it.

this one is going out to all the high achievers and perfectionists out there.

it is important to recognize that our best effort may look different day to day and to be kind to ourselves when we don't meet our own high standards. this doesn't mean that we should settle for mediocrity or give up on our goals, but rather that we should be realistic about what we can achieve and be proud of ourselves for the progress we make, no matter how small.

feeling critical is so incredibly common, but also one of the most problematic tendencies that can show up during important conversations.
