Meet Kevin! One of our amazing Physiotherapists.

Possessing over 30 years of experience in high performance and elite sport, Kevin has worked with athletes and teams from the provincial and national levels, up to the professional level, spending time with organizations such as Hockey Canada, Canada Soccer, the Edmonton Elks, Ottawa Senators and Calgary Flames.

Kevin completed degrees at the University of Alberta in both Athletic Training and Conditioning and Physiotherapy, and is a Registered International Sport Physiotherapist and Certified Athletic Therapist.

He has taken advanced training in many therapeutic skills including manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, acupuncture and Intermuscular stimulation.

Kevin continues to pursue personal and professional development, recently completing a Post-Graduate Certificate in Global Leadership from Royal Roads University, as well as a Masters of Clinical Science in Advanced Health Care Practices at the University of Western Ontario.

Injured in a motor vehicle collision (MVC) 🚗

Injured from a non-sport related mechanism (e.g., assault, hit by a vehicle, fall on ice, fall downstairs, motorcycle accident, hit by a car, etc.) with associated post-traumatic intracranial / cerebral hemorrhage, orbital fracture, basal skull fracture or structural brain injury 🧠

On short-term or long-term work-related disability injury
with medical-legal claims or involvement associated with their injury 📜⚖️

Acute Sport-Related Concussion Self-Referral

This program is offered to individuals ages 10 – 60 years with a suspected concussion sustained during a sport or recreation related activity within the past 30 days.

It includes a comprehensive physician clinical assessment and objective multi-modal neurological assessment using advanced technology with targeted, individualized management strategies.

There is no cost associated with the physician visit as it is covered by Alberta Health. However, the advanced technology assessments are not covered under basic Alberta Healthcare Service plans and thus there is a cost associated with this program.

Today is a day to celebrate for us at BCI!

3 years ago we completed the construction and opened the doors of our specialty Performance Medicine Clinic that services the performance medicine and rehabilitation needs of our Canadian Olympic, Paralympic and Provincial Sport Organizations in collaboration with the Canadian Sport Institute Alberta as well as our Community Athletes !

We expanded the Clinic to include a Performance Rehabilitation and Multi-Disciplinary Neuro-Rehabilitation Clinic.

We recruited a dream team of leading health care professionals including sport medicine physicians, physiotherapists, athletic therapists, vestibular therapists, developmental neuro-optometrists, exercise physiologists, professional kinesiologists, registered sport psychologist, sport psychiatrists and clinician scientists.

We continue to conduct cutting-edge applied clinical research on sport concussion assessment, management and prevention strategies.
Since opening our doors, we have served:
