Commit to the Six

With the cold weather and change in seasons, we experience a decrease in metabolism.

Offset the slowing of your metabolism during the seasonal transition by committing to daily physical activity.

Just 2 minutes a day 3 times a day of high intensity activity can have a tremendous impact to your overall health and longevity. That's just 6 minutes of high intensity activity a day.

Try running stairs, doing burpees, skipping, dancing, or jump squats. Anything that makes you feel like you're working hard (a 7-9 out of 10 kind of hard) for 2 minutes, 3 times a day, daily.

Just 6 minutes a day can have you seeing improvements in these 6 areas:
- better sleep,
- better resting heart rate,
- reduction in blood pressure,
- improved insulin sensitivity,
- improved fitness,
- improved cardiovascular health.

Stretch it out Sunday!

No, we can't make the day longer but you can feel better going into the week.

Find a space with no distractions and create a relaxing atmosphere. Light a candle or grab your morning coffee to sip (just make sure you hydrate after) as you stretch and sink into the softness of your joints, muscles and fascia. Stretching pain free. Breathing deeply as you lengthen and reduce tightness and soreness.

Even 5 minutes of stretching can have tremendous benefits. The longer we stretch and the frequency in which we do it increases the benefits greatly.

Enjoy the benefits of increased mobility, reduction or elimination of pain, change in mood calming the sympathetic nervous system (flight, fight or freeze) and increasing the parasympathic nervous system (rest and digest) as well as increasing power, strength, endurance and flexibility.

The widely ignored act of stretching is really a game changer. Give it a try and share your thoughts with the Kelevation community!
