PetDerm is thrilled to announce Dr. Lyndsay Kong, a board-certified specialist in cardiology is joining our team! It’s an honour to be able to offer this advanced expertise within our clinic.

She collaborates closely with referring veterinarians in the Calgary community. As part of PetDerm’s multidisciplinary team, she provides evidence-based care for congenital and acquired cardiac disease, including interventional cardiology, congestive heart failure, and arrhythmia management.

Referrals and patient transfer requests will launch shortly. More to come on the referral process.

Cane was one of Internal Medicine’s very first patients - and what a year of progress from him!

Cane had a complex history of recent cruciate ligament disease requiring surgery, shifting leg lameness and joint swelling, chronic large bowel diarrhea, significant loss of body fat AND muscle mass, poor appetite, fever and lethargy.

Because Cane was also recovering from recent ligament surgery at , we recommended avoiding steroids during healing, as they could have slowed his recovery and contributed to further muscle loss. Instead, his treatment plan was thoughtfully tailored to support both his joints and his overall recovery.

Cane has bounced back to his happy self, stable, comfortable, and celebrating with his family!

Healing with the speed of light!⚡️

Photobiomodulation helps accelerate the skin’s natural regenerative process in animals. For this horse’s traumatic wound repair, a specialized chromophore gel was applied and activated with a blue LED lamp, in turn stimulating cellular repair, reducing healing time, and supporting a smoother recovery.

Throwback Thursday!

One of the greatest joys of 2025 was finally hosting our very first open house for our veterinary community.

We absolutely loved connecting in person with our referring colleagues and fellow specialists — getting the chance to mix, mingle, and celebrate the hard work and collaboration for our patients every day. It was such a fun night surrounded by this incredible community.

Looking for a special home for Milo 🐾

Milo is a sweet, goofy Bernadoodle with a huge heart. He loves people, is great with kids, enjoys meeting other dogs, and lives for games of ball (especially keep-away!). He’s house-trained, crate-trained, knows his basic commands, and will happily chat back with his signature howls.

Milo comes with medical needs. Milo has an inherited auto immune disorder called Sebaceous Adenitis, a skin disease that requires ongoing care to keep his skin comfortable. Treatment typically includes medication, supplements, and regular moisturizing skin care. Our clinic is happy to guide and support Milo’s future family through his treatment plan.

He’s a loving, loyal boy who just needs the right home willing to give him lots of love and meet his medical needs. 💙
