Movement 💛 Want to feel better? You have to move. 🏃‍♀️

Move your body and move your energy. ✨

How can you feel the best you can feel in the life you have now? Even with the constraints, challenges and obstacles. 💭 Exercise and movement will definitely help.

This is very simple in one sense – move everyday. Walking, running, dancing, biking, swimming, stretching – anything that feels good to you. 🚴

How about moving your energy? Sounds strange? It isn’t. We can get so bogged down by life – work, our responsibilities, our preferences, relationship struggles – that we can literally feel weighed down and unable to move. When this energy gets blocked it can feel terrible: exhaustion, lack of joy, irritability, low mood. So – learn to move your energy! 😃

“How?” you may ask.

Some ways to start: mindset, meditation, mindfulness, breathwork. 🧘‍♀️

If you have a lot of things from your past popping up – seek help to work on this. If you have done that work and are basically fighting with reality – work on letting go. 🤲

I absolutely love this quote. 💜 “If you can change your mind, you can change your life.”

We can’t change the external world. There are a lot of things that are out of our control. The one thing we can do, is notice the way we think about external factors.

This rings true especially in the world we’re living in.

Working on your mindset means examining, and improving the quality of your thoughts. Often thoughts seem automatic and out of our control. This is a story we are telling ourselves or a belief system that may be in our best interest to shift.

Examine your thoughts and limiting beliefs. Contemplate - is that true? Is it helpful? What is a different thought that I can tell myself that is more aligned with what I really want? 🤔💜

Let’s Find The Root! 💜

One of the reasons I love my job is that I get to look at each patient individually and take the time to understand what events lead up to where they are now.

From this perspective, we can make more empowered choices and create the space for them to begin healing, in whatever capacity is best for them. 🙏

Patterns! 💜 With January fully underway I notice people getting back into routines - why not take this as an opportunity to consider which patterns are worth getting back into and consider which may be best to change.

🥯 Do you have a bagel and coffee every morning and end up feeling tired and hungry during the day? Why not make a different breakfast and see if you feel better?

📺 Do you end up watching TV at night because you are so exhausted from your day? Why not consider starting a yoga or stretching practice and see what it does?

💆‍♀️ do you constantly feel overwhelmed by your day-to-day life? Why not work on seeing if there is any space for something different? What would need to be true in order for this to change?

Language Matters 💛

Words Are Powerful ✨

A mentor of mine went so far as to make me do push-ups every time I said one of the following words: but, try, never, always, or I don’t know. It took me a bit to grasp just HOW powerful our language is. It sets the stage, alters interactions and changes the energy of every conversation. Most of us have a few words that we use that carry an energy or tone that keeps us locked in a pattern in our lives. You may not be aware of it, and you may resist (like I did) the implication that my simple, “innocent” words could mean anything other than what they were at a base level. 🗣

Let me explain – I’ll use “try.” Like Yoda said, “Do or do not – there is no try”. For radical responsibility and movement in our lives – it is important to do more than “try”. Do it – do the thing! It doesn’t mean you won’t fail (more on that work later) – it does mean you go in with an attitude that it is possible, and it is your intention that it shall be done. Not – “I will try and see what happens”. 💭

Give that a tr…wait….give that a go, and see what changes in your life 😊

One Step At A Time 💛

Five words: One step at a time 🙏

You can do it because I see it every day in my patients. ✨

Here’s a thought to contemplate - You are not an abnormality or an outlier in which the rules don’t apply. Meaning: you are not the only person who feels it is not possible to change their life (i.e. Lose weight, eat well, maintain healthy boundaries, make time for exercise, prioritize sleep, etc, etc.) Everyone has to work at these, and although we do face unique challenges as an individual (ie. Our work, our background, etc), we have more control over our lives than we sometimes want to believe. 🧠

Why? If we take responsibility for our lives, we can’t blame others for why things didn’t turn out the way they did. This can be a hard pill to swallow because then WE have to make the changes, show up and do the work. It can sound hard – but I assure you it is empowering and worth it. 💪

Hi, I’m Dr. Lindsay Irwin! 👋

With so much going on in the world and our lives busier than ever, it can be so easy to get wrapped up in it all and allow confusion, fear, and overwhelm to hijack your health choices and your life. Being in clinical practice for almost 18 years though, I’ve seen firsthand what’s possible when a patient’s health turns around. This is what drives me – to guide others on a life-changing health journey and get women unstuck so they keep pursuing their health goals. ✨

I found that my clients thrive when they learn a few key strategies and start to trust their bodies again. When it comes to prevention and truly attaining good health – we need more than a yearly check-up. We need a deeper understanding of all the factors that are contributing to our health and an acknowledgement that we are the caretakers of our own bodies. My passion is to support, guide, and mentor women who are ready to make positive changes and embrace the next level of their lives in their family, career, and sense of well-being. 🙏
