💫Alignment always trumps the actual exercises
If you aren’t aligned when you’re working on a specific exercise (whether it’s to improve your hip, back, shoulder, neck, etc), then you will reinforce the imbalance. So how do you FIX xyz? It’s a multitude of things. It’s by addressing many systems & zones of the body.
For example: that hip surgery might temporarily “fix” the problem - and sometimes it doesn’t even do that. Where the symptoms are showing up is often not the root of the problem…it could likely be rooting from above and/or below.
Questions you should be asking:
❓How did my hip get like that in the first place
❓Is there an imbalance elsewhere (above and/or below) affecting my hip problem.
❓Is there weakness or stability issues above and below my area of concern.
❓Do I have restrictions above and/or below the area of concern. Do I have local restrictions that need to get addressed?
❓Are my musculoskeletal restrictions due to instability locally or elsewhere? Or is it due to something else?
❓Is there movement patterns, activities or different exercises that are potentially feeding this problem.
❓Are there other factors that could be referring pain into my hip (digestive issues, illnesses, diseases, inflammation, diet, psychosocial factors)
And more…
Every👏🏽System👏🏽Works👏🏽Together👏🏽
There are NO singular exercise or a magic group of exercises that will fix xyz…the interventions and outcomes depends on many different factors.
So…it’s not straightforward.
Everybody has a body! As a society we cannot remain at a grade 3 level when it comes to understanding how to be healthy. You can’t just leave it for the experts. The people who will thrive moving forward will be those who will learn how to be in tune (mind body soul).

The Power of Releasing the Subclavius Muscle
Today, let’s delve into the often-overlooked subclavius muscle, a small yet mighty player in our overall well-being, particularly in supporting brain health, blood flow, and lymphatic drainage.
Nestled beneath the clavicle, the subclavius muscle plays a crucial role in stabilizing the clavicle during arm movements and assists in breathing. But its influence extends far beyond these functions. By releasing tension in the subclavius muscle, we can facilitate better drainage of toxins from the brain, improve blood flow, and enhance lymphatic circulation. This trifecta of benefits is vital for maintaining optimal health and preventing the accumulation of harmful substances that can affect our cognitive and physical well-being.
How to release:
✅ find your collarbone with the opposite hand and dig your fingers or your thumb knuckle under the collarbone (moderate pressure)
✅ if it’s tight, tender, swollen, uncomfortable…chances are, you’re subclavius muscle is tight and it’s keeping the “drains clogged”
✅ find a tender spot and release the muscle just by massaging under the collarbone 30 sec to one min per spot

✅Having good foot and toe mobility is integral to proper mobility and movement for the rest of your body.
✅Not only does good toe mobility provide a good base of support for your entire body, but it provided stimulation of the mechanoreceptors that activate your foot strength. It’s really hard to activate your foot if you don’t have good foot and toe mobility.
✅Splaying the toes is what initiates the tie bar mechanism of your foot, and it’s responsible for 40% of the stiffness or stability of your foot during the push off phase of walking and running.
You need foot and toe mobility for better strength, better push off and better stability.
‼️If you don’t have good toe and foot mobility, you’ll be finding other muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones to work harder than they were designed. Your body is smart and find compensations.
🥁Cue in: foot, toe and ankle peoblems, achilles & shin splints issues, plantar fasciitis, knee, ITB and hip problems.
‼️Foot and toe mobility is SO important. Restrictive shoes and very supportive and thick soles are NOT your friends! You’re doing you a disservice in the long run.

Find a line of energy running from the soles of your feet to the tips of you fingers. We tend to be very sloppy when we are stretching - reaching over and dangling. Sometimes the dangle is appropriate but in many other stretching poses and circumstance…especially in yoga, you need to stay ACTIVE in your body.
Find a way to:
Ground & Reach
Push & Pull
Root & Rise
Find the connection from one end to the other 💫

This exercise helps retrain the proper jaw biomechanics Very helpful for those with jaw clicking.
HOW to do it❓❓❓
Place the tip of the tongue on the roof of the mouth (where the hard palate meets the soft palate) and keep it there.
Then open and close the jaw 10 reps, 10x/day.
TIP 💡 : do this every time you go to the bathroom and you’ll never forget 😉
This will be harder to do if other areas of the jaw, neck and throat are too restricted (and if you’re tongue tied).
Learn WHY this exercise is so important (and so much more) in my integrative online TMJ course…coming soon.

What if I told you that anything is possible?
Every cell in your body is listening to every thought you think, and every word you say.
To heal, you need to develop a new neural network in order to not run old pathways.
The body keeps the score.
This was my skin after (and during) some very stressful and uncertain times. I may have been feeling better emotionally, but my body was telling me otherwise.
(And before y’all say “it’s fungal…I had the same thing” NO, IT WASN’T. I got tested several times - all with negative results...and I tried everything - nothing worked. It fact it just got worse)
What fixed it? Finding peace within and KNOWING that my body knows exactly what to do. A deep knowing that it’ll figure itself out. And almost overnight (not even kidding), it all went away. I know it sounds over simplistic but most “difficult” things in life are actually “simple”.
Don’t underestimate the power of
the mind,
the power of words and
your vibrational frequency
It’s your innate pharmacy. It can either destroy or heal you. And once you experience the magic for yourself, then you realize that anything is actually possible 💫

Having good lymphatic flow throughout your body is important in order for your body to filter out all the junk. When things get clogged up that’s when illnesses are more likely to occur. The lymphatic system is a big filtering system and is part of our immune system.
There are many clusters of lymphatic tissue in your gut and also around the neck, armpits and collarbones. There’s lots of lymph nodes around the neck region and it’s important for them not to get clogged up. Gua Sha massage is a great way to keep the flow moving OR you can just use your hands!!
This routine I’m showing in this video, will not only stimulate and improve blood flow and oxygen to the tissue, help mobilize the fascia, release chemicals and flush out toxins to promote healing, it will also give you the appearance of a more sculpted face with decreased puffiness!
💫 Also, many of the areas massaged along the neck and face in this video will help stimulate your PARASYMPATHETIC nervous system. That’s your your rest & digest / heal & restore system! Ya….you read that right!
So why not implement this one everyday because it kills many birds with one stone (and it’s FREE) 🔥

This is a quick and easy exercise to help release the muscles at the BASE OF THE SKULL.
You can use 2 lacrosse or tennis balls for this, a sock and an elastic.
When doing this exercise lie on your back with your knees bent as it will flatten your neck to the ground better.
⭐️ I needed to apply pressure along the side of the balls with my hand in order to feel the pressure/release along the base of the skull.
You can either lay there and do nothing or nod your head “yes” and “no” for a self massage. It all depends on how tight and sensitive you are and for some people just laying there with the balls under the base of the skull will be enough.

Foot pain can be fixed with better foot mobility and strength.
Most people have very poor foot mobility and strength.
Insoles and lots of arch support usually make your feet weaker and more rigid. Why? Because there’s something else doing the job of supporting the arch for you. They are making your problem worse. Sorry 🤷🏻♀️
Most of our shoes are also quite restrictive in the toe box resulting in less mobility and also less proprioception (feedback about where your foot is in space). Also, those shoes with the extra cushion along the sole 🫣😱😥🫠
(Don’t even get me started on that)
Try this exercise. Super simple and for some this will be more challenging than it looks.
You can even put your toe spacers when doing this exercise (double wammy!!) http://amazon.ca/shop/ethos.pt

It’s sometimes more complicated than that! But other times intra oral releases just like this one can work wonders. Everyone is different. Every body is different. Even though two people can have the same symptoms, the root of the problem can be very different. And that goes for everything - not just TMJ disorders.
⭐️⭐️⭐️For those interested, I’ll be launching later this spring my ONLINE INTEGRATIVE TMJ course. I’ll be going through SO MUCH information - things that sometimes take me 15 appointments or so to cover in person. So if you’re interested and want to get on the mailing list, comment: TMJ
