Dr. Sarah MacEachern is driven by urgency.

As medical lead for the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Care Coordination Pilot Project, she’s improving care for kids in Calgary. A child health researcher at The Owerko Centre and leader of the Precision Neurodevelopment Lab, she focuses on helping children with neurodevelopmental disorders like autism and ADHD, especially those experiencing severe behaviours of concern.

One impactful initiative is Nova Sleepcare, a program equipping doctors to better support neurodiverse kids.

Dr. MacEachern has seen firsthand how improved sleep can transform children’s lives. Lived experience is central to her work, guided by an advisory council of neurodiverse youth and caregivers.

“All our work is grounded in real-world needs,” she says. Through innovative research and collaboration, Dr. MacEachern is making a lasting impact — fast.

Aurora makes an impression everywhere she goes.

This week she proudly left her mark on Hyundai Canada and Hyundai Hope on Wheels, their charitable program dedicated to helping kids with cancer.

Every handprint on the car tells a story of courage, hope, and the power of community coming together for kids like Aurora.

A heartfelt thank you to Hyundai Canada and the Hyundai dealers who visited for a very special presentation of a cheque for $100,000 that will benefit kids with cancer here at the Alberta Children's Hospital. ❤

BIGGEST. RACE. EVER.

This community made the 9th annual RBC Race for the Kids the largest yet — and together we raised more than $450,000 for child and adolescent mental health!

Whether you ran, walked, donated, cheered from the sidelines, or sponsored the event, YOU made history.

A special thank you to all our generous sponsors like RBC and Alberta Milk for making this day possible. Together, we’re helping thousands of kids get the care they need to heal, grow, and thrive.

"Hospital at Home will always be one of the most precious things that was available to us, because it allowed us to be together." — Kristin, Rhett's mom

Every week, a family at Alberta Children’s Hospital hears the words: “Your child has cancer.”

Thanks to donors, kids like Rhett can receive life-saving chemo at home with the Hospital at Home program — less hospital time, more real life.

Last year, Hospital at Home made 1,519 home visits. That's 1,519 times a child didn't have to leave the comfort of their own home for the care they needed. ❤️

The Summit — Calgary's first donor-funded mental health centre made just for kids and teens — is home to Canada’s first evidence-based pharmacogenetic testing service in youth mental health.

Using a patient’s DNA collected from saliva, researchers use biomarkers that inform decisions around medications for anxiety and depression, allowing clinicians to better match medications to individual children and teens, reducing adverse reactions and improving outcomes.

What used to take months or even years to identify the right medication and dosage now takes just weeks or even days, meaning more kids are feeling better, sooner.
