My approach to baby nutrition has shifted many times over the last decade of motherhood and 4 babies. For me, it isn’t about only following baby led weaning, strictly waiting days between trying new low risk foods or making ALL of my own baby food but more of a go with the flow of our family life approach - sticking to our values of being well fed and prioritizing nutrient dense foods while also having fun and being realistic with the season of life I’m in. Turns out life and feeding a baby solids is so much easier when you’re not trying to fit in a box. You can still be intentional about feeding your baby without having it be super time consuming or stressful!
Ok let’s get into the food :) we breastfeed on demand so she had lots of milky feeds between all of the solids too :)
Strawberries are high in vitamin C which helps the absorption of the iron in red fife wheat pancakes which are naturally high in iron and many other vitamins and minerals! .basics.milling is our new obsession 🥞🍓
For baby food pouches I am for some iron, fats, micronutrients and organic whenever possible. They are so nice to have in the diaper bag for days when we are out and about!
is literally THE BEST non dairy yogurt I’ve ever had, simple ingredients, high in fats and lots of great probiotics, added h**p for some extra iron, protein and fats.
Lentil bolognese I had prepped in the fridge from a dinner a few nights ago, I just set some of hers aside before adding veg ground for ours. High in protein,l+ iron from the lentils, vitamin c from the tomatoes, tons of micronutrients and SO MUCH FLAVOUR 🍅
Let me know in the comments if you guys would like the recipe!!
✨ just want to add that every baby is so different in how much they eat and when they become interested in solids, don’t compare your baby to others on the internet and on that note don’t even compare your baby to themselves on a diff day bc they do be changing their little minds, except about playground rocks bc those are always apparently a 10/10 lol 🫶🏻
