I've tried to live "as if my desire for a specific future was already here." Since I haven't given up and I'm still persevering after my dreams, I have to admit that living this way has been helpful. I do not recommend that anyone ignore or neglect their children. In addition, each and every wound, or emotional hurt also comes with an advantage that cannot easily be achieved in any other way. For me, I have to say that finding my way through another twelve years of academic study as an adult to become a psychologist was such an advantage.

My very good client, Superman, started hearing whispers. They indicated that he needed to make some long-overdue changes. The whispers began slowly and grew to be more frequent month after month. He didn't know what was happening and tried his best to shake them off. But the whispers ony got loudly and more frequent.
