The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends using a smear of fluoride toothpaste (about the size of a grain of rice) for children under 3 years old and a pea-sized amount for children aged 3-6. Start brushing your child's teeth as soon as the first tooth appears and make brushing a fun, daily routine!

Our Beloved Dental Home

At Children’s Dental Health Centre (CDHC), our specialized pediatric dental team’s goal is to dedicate a Dental Home for infants, toddlers, school age children and adolescents. We strive to support children in all aspect of their oral health care and craniofacial growth and development delivered in a comprehensive, continuously accessible, coordinated and family-centered way. Our focus is on prevention, early detection and treatment of dental diseases in a pleasant and safe environment. We are committed to establishing your child’s trust and confidence. Our pediatric dental health professionals are dedicated to establishing healthy habits that promote a lifetime of healthy smiles.

Education

Dr. He was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. He graduated from the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, attaining a Bachelor of Medical Sciences Degree (BMedSci) and a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree.

Dr. He practiced general dentistry for several years in Calgary before his passion for pediatric oral health care and treatment of medically compromised and special health care needs children lead him to beautiful Vancouver, BC. He did his specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the British Columbia Children’s Hospital and the University of British Columbia completing a Master of Science in Craniofacial Science (MSc) degree and a Diploma in Pediatric Dentistry (Dip.Ped). Dr. He was involved with the neonatal intensive care unit at the BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre focusing on improving the quality of life of preterm infants by studying how different ventilatory support can influence their facial development.
