World Rabies Day seeks to enhance understanding of the effects of rabies on both humans and animals.
How Can We Help Prevent the Spread of Rabies?
To effectively prevent the spread of rabies, it is crucial to keep our pets current on their rabies vaccinations. Even if you have a strictly indoor cat, it's important to ensure they are vaccinated, as they might escape outside or come into contact with a bat that could find its way into your home and potentially bite your pet.
If your pet is in need of having their Rabies vaccine updated please call your Veterinary clinic to book them in,

National Hug Your Hound Day
Celebrated on the second Sunday in September, this year falling on September 14, National Hug Your Hound Day is dedicated to honoring our beloved canine companions.
Dogs have been our loyal partners since the beginning of time.
They are likely among the first animals to have been domesticated, forming affectionate bonds with humans.
Renowned for their warmth and love, dogs serve as devoted companions, reliable workers, and protective guardians of our homes.

Hug Your Hound Day serves as a gentle reminder that our four-legged friends deserve our love and attention. This special day encourages pet owners to strengthen their bond with their dogs and demonstrate that they truly are our best friends.

September: National Pet Health Insurance Month
September is recognized as National Pet Health Insurance Month, celebrated by veterinarians, shelters, rescues, pet owners, and insurance companies across Canada and the USA. This month aims to raise awareness about the significance of pet insurance for both cats and dogs, especially for those pet owners who may not be familiar with it.
As pet owners, it’s natural to avoid thinking about the possibility of our pets falling ill or getting injured, but these situations can occur. Having pet insurance allows you to concentrate on what truly matters—your pets—if an accident or illness does happen.
If you're wondering which pet insurance is the most suitable for your furry friend, the best approach is to conduct thorough research. Each company offers varying monthly premiums and deductibles, so it's essential to choose the one that aligns best with your specific needs.
