Tired or burned out? While they might feel similar, they’re not the same—and knowing the difference is key to taking care of yourself.
Feeling tired is natural and temporary. It often comes from a busy day or lack of sleep and usually improves with rest, relaxation, or a good night’s sleep. But burnout is different. It’s a state of emotional, mental, and physical exhaustion caused by prolonged stress, and it doesn’t simply go away with sleep. Burnout can leave you feeling detached, overwhelmed, and stuck, making even simple tasks feel impossible.
If you’re feeling burned out, take small steps to reduce stress, seek support from loved ones or a professional, and give yourself permission to rest and recover.
