Brain Treatment Centre of Alberta - Hoffman Centre for Integrative Medicine

Brain Treatment Centre of Alberta - Hoffman Centre for Integrative Medicine The Brain Treatment Centre of Alberta focuses on an advanced multi-modal, integrative approach to heal and optimize the function of the brain and body .

Our treatments work on the basis of a concept known as neuroplasticity. Neuroplasticity is the constant restructuring of the brain that occurs on a second to second basis. We utilize advanced, scientifically-proven techniques that help guide these changes to relieve many common psychological and behavioural conditions. The main techniques we utilize are: QEEG-guided neurofeedback, biofeedback, sLORETA neurofeedback, low energy neurofeedback system (LENS), pulsed electromagnetic fields, cranial electrostimulation, and various other brain entrainment techniques. Neurofeedback refers to a type of biofeedback that is specific to the brain. It uses real-time recording of brain wave activity through qualitative electroencephalography (QEEG) to provide the user with information about his/her brain activity, teaching self-regulation and how to normalize his/her neural activity. If any of these brainwaves are in disproportion, either over-active or under-active, it will lead to any number of neurological disorders, depending on which region of the brain is affected. Effects that are noticed after these treatments include:
Optimized cognitive abilities such as improved memory and processing speed
Improved attention span and focus
Improved motor skills
Eased effort in completing activities of daily living
Improved ability to stay calm and relaxed; reduced hyperactivity
Decreased anxiety and depression, mood swings become normalized, emotions balance
