Surgery for Pelvic Organ Prolapse… 🥑

The success rate of this surgery is high - about 94% when defining it as the absence of the prolapse beyond the h***n (MD Barber 2009).

Did you know that the recurrence rate for this type of surgery is also quite high? Literature shows us that it’s around 25% (M Kayondo 2022).

This is because while the surgery repairs the stretched tissues, it doesn’t repair the individual risk factors that caused your prolapse in the first place.
