We were excited to celebrate with our family of staff, families, supporters and collaborators at the 2026 Report to the Community on May 14, 2026. Over 70 participants came to see and hear what living abundantly means here at Wing Kei.

We were very grateful to announce that the Government of Alberta has selected Wing Kei as one of eleven projects to receive funding through a $23.4 million provincial grant. This grant will provide an additional 54 spaces at Wing Kei Highland Park, which is set to open in September. With this addition, Wing Kei Highland Park will serve Calgarians through 187 continuing care spaces and 16 hospice spaces, for a total of 203 spaces.

We are who we are because of the incredible community that witnesses our work and nurtures us. Thank you for supporting our mission to ensure all can live abundantly in God’s grace.

Only 6 weeks to go! Our biggest annual fundraising event, the 26th Walk for Wing Kei, is getting closer.

A heartfelt thank you to the ECSSEN students for visiting Wing Kei Greenview and sharing such beautiful performances with our residents.

The mix of Chinese instruments and classical music brought a fresh and meaningful experience to the day. We could see the care and effort behind each performance, and our residents truly enjoyed it.

A touch of spring has arrived at Wing Kei. Our Adult Day Care Program, designed for seniors living at home are filled with friendship and engaging activities, hosted a special activity to celebrate the season, and it was so lovely to see our clients smiling and enjoying their crafts together.🌸

Happy National Volunteer Appreciation Week!

In 2025, over 180 volunteer individuals and groups gave more than 12,200 hours of service to Wing Kei. From performances and care support to recreation and gardening, many volunteers have formed meaningful relationships with the residents, and leave a lasting impact on their lives. They are truly making a difference in Wing Kei every day. Thank you for your dedication and service!

Today is Advance Care Planning Day, a national awareness day that encourages people to talk about and share their wishes for future health and personal care.

At Wing Kei, we believe these conversations are an important part of person-centered care. Taking the time to discuss what matters most now can help ease stress for you and your family, support healthcare teams in honouring your wishes, and ensure your voice is heard when it matters most.

This April 16, we encourage everyone to start meaningful conversations with your family and care providers about your future care and the values that guide those decisions.

Big progress at Wing Kei Highland Park!

As of April, construction has reached 75% completion, and the second-floor interior is steadily coming to life. We look forward to welcoming our first residents in September!

Thoughtfully designed to support comfort and privacy, Wing Kei Highland Park will include 133 long-term care beds and 16 hospice care beds, all single occupancy rooms.

The 26th Walk for Wing Kei pre-registration and information booth will be open at Wing Kei Crescent Heights every Wednesday and Friday from April 15 to June 5, 2026, between 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM. Please feel free to stop by to submit your registration form and pledge form, pick up your T-shirt if you are eligible, or ask any questions.

This National Caregiver Day, we honour the dedication of all caregivers, staff, volunteers, and family members, who make a difference in the lives of residents every day.

As Clinical Manager Grace shared, “When residents hug me and hold my hand to say thank you, it reminds me how meaningful this work is.”
