HAPPY INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY!

People practice yoga for many different reasons. For me, my yoga practices balances my other forms of training. It keeps me mobile which leads to greater strength and power. It keeps me grounded when the world feels like it is spinning too fast. It keeps me centered when I feel I have lost control.

My yoga practice is not traditional. I like to explore how the body moves with ease and grace.

Monday Mobility

Sitting behind your computer for long hours will wreak havoc on the neck, shoulder and chest muscles. This simple dynamic stretch will relieve tension. Do as many repetition as you like. Finish by holding the stretch and breath!

I love this mobility move for the anterior and posterior fascial lines. It is simple and effective. And feels so good! Use it in a warm up, cool down or your mobility training. Enjoy!

Mobility Monday

Tight hips? You are not alone. Long hours of sitting and certain activities such as cycling and running can lead to tight hips. This mobility sequence of exercise is one of my favourite hip release series to do first thing in the morning and just before bed. For the best results do the dynamic exercises about 5-6 repetitions and hold the static stretches for 30-45 seconds per exercise. Keep your hips moving!

Mobility Monday!
When it comes to gaining or maintaining range of motion and freedom of movement it is essential to move in a wide variety of planes of motion. The T-spine can get rigid with age and long hours of sitting. This dynamic mobility series moves facia, releases muscle tension and assists with back discomfort. Use it as a mobility warm up, an exercise break or after a workout.
