This is my dogs favorite sleeping position on his back. It should also be your favorite position too!! Sleeping on your back is the best for neck health helping to prevent the morning neck pain associated with side or stomach sleeping. When you spend long hour in these positions without good neck support you end up over stretching and compressing neck structures resulting in morning neck pain.

Let's talk about how to pack your pack. A well organized pack will reduce fatigue and minimize neck and back pain. There are 4 basic principles to remover when loading your pack. 1.) Heavy gear close to back 2.) light gear away from back 3.) Frequently used items on top 4.) Less used items on bottom. Make sure to divide up your gear before you pack.
