Meet Matthew Vandervoort — the newest member of our physiotherapy team!
Matthew brings a strong background in movement and rehab, holding a BSc in Kinesiology from the University of Lethbridge (where he also guarded the net as a varsity soccer goalkeeper) and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta.
In the clinic, Matthew is all about you — focusing on patient-centered care tailored to your goals. His treatment style blends education, exercise, hands-on manual therapy, and other pain-relieving techniques to help you get back to doing what you love.
When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll probably find him on the soccer pitch in Calgary’s competitive men’s league or cheering on his favorite hockey team. He’s also into hiking, skiing, running, golf, shinny, and even pickleball!

1️⃣ Neck Stretch: Tilt your head towards your shoulder, hold for 15 seconds, then repeat on the other side.
2️⃣ Upper Back Stretch: Interlace fingers, stretch arms forward, and push palms away to release upper back tightness.

The goal of physiotherapy at Richmond Physiotherapy & Massage is to decrease your pain and improve your function as quickly as possible. Along with the manual treatments that we provide, an important component of this goal is to educate you on your condition, why the pain occurs the way it does, and what we need to do to make you feel better.
