Each Sunday a member of our management team takes a turn as Manager on Duty. With our phones and emails quiet we get to enjoy taking part in activities with Residents! Today it was our Executive Director Jason's turn. He got to get into some awesome discussions in our Trivia session. We also welcomed a new team member Muskan to our active living team!

Today we wrapped up our month of around the world with The Fabrics of the World fashion Show. With countries like Congo, Bangladesh, Nigeria, India, Scotland and of course Canada were represented, we showed our pride in the diversity of cultures we celebrate at Venvi The Edgemont!

We are now on the move again and we are headed for Paris! The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre and all things elegant. The countdown is on to the best garage sale in Edgemont this year! So far we have over 10 vendors but still room for a few more! So far we have vintage, jewellery, uranium glass, Avon and more! Call to book your space or come visit at 80 Edenwold Drive NW between 10am to 3pm. Bring your empty tummies as we will also have gormet hot dogs for sale!

Residents at Venvi Churchill Place in Oakville were treated to a tasty presentation from a local student entrepreneur. Charlotte, a 15-year-old with a passion for baking, started her business, Grain & Loaf Co, to showcase that healthy can also mean delicious. Specializing in whole grain, good for you baked items, Charlotte is dedicated to bringing fresh, locally sourced, and handcrafted goods to customers.

Joined by her mother and grandmother, Charlotte brought her baked scones, muffins, and challah bread to share with residents, who were inspired by her energy and passion. She shared her story, recounting how she had taught herself to bake through trial and error, experimenting with healthier ingredients to make her treats more nutritious without sacrificing taste.

By the end of the presentation, Charlotte not only shared her delicious baked goods but also forged connections bridging generations through the joy of baking.

The Bentley Regina recently celebrated their grand re-opening after months of renovations. Residents were joined by Regina’s Mayor, Chad Bachynski, and other members of the community who were able to enjoy the inviting new spaces. The residence features an ode to The Capitol Theatre and an all-new pub called The Honking Goose Tavern. Guests had the opportunity to sample the Pension Plan Pilsner, a collaboration with The Bentley Regina and Pile O Bones Brewery located in Regina - a true Saskatchewan beer. If you’re in the area, drop by The Bentley Regina to say hello!

This month, residences across Canada will have the opportunity to participate in an inspiring horticulture conference prepared by Alexis Ashworth from Root in Nature 🌻

Residents can then put their newfound knowledge into practice by creating beautiful gardening projects to bring life and color to each of our properties.

Retirement living is about community and connection. A new resident at Venvi Windsor Park retirement residence felt overwhelmed on her first day, until a group of compassionate residents embraced her warmly. Over lunch, they shared stories and realized they all hailed from the same Italian town. What began as a simple gesture blossomed into an hour of laughter, camaraderie, and encouragement.
