Rebecca Fuller Self-Care Coach

Rebecca Fuller Self-Care Coach Rebecca is passionate about self-care for well-being and helps people with self-care topics like physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being.

She defines self-care as "Anything that makes your heart sing, and causes no harm." Sign up & do quiz. Having been in the corporate world for 30 years, I know how stressful and exhausting it can be, especially when we don't take care of ourselves. This is why I am passionate about helping people find their genius when it comes to self-care, as well as examining belief systems that no longer serve and change them to beliefs that are better aligned to our desires. Let's face it, when we change what we believe, we change what we do, it's that simple. However as change is not easy for most of us, I am here to guide and support you through the process. I also love my husband and our fur babies. After travelling North America the last 15 years of the Corporate world I am loving working from home, gardening and being grounded. There truly is no place like home.

Being kind to yourself allows more space in your mind/body to be kind to others.

Think of the opposite, you're run down, tired, grumpy, are you at your best to be kind to others? Probably not.

Give yourself some grace today, maybe it's a bubble bath, a 10 minute break with a cup of tea and a good book, a walk outside in the fresh air, you get the idea.

Just a little self-care will put you in a better space to be kind to others. Don't believe me, give it a try!

Tell me what kinds of things you do for self-care, what makes you feel better?

Good to know!

Most vehicles have a recirculation button as part of their AC controls, but many of us aren’t sure when to use it. The simple rule of thumb is to use it in the summer and turn it off in the winter.
The recirculation button works by taking the air inside your car and recirculating it within the cabin, rather than pulling in fresh air from outside. On extremely hot days, if you don't use the recirculation feature, your AC system has to cool the hot air from outside, which can be less efficient. By recirculating the cooler air inside the car, you can cool your vehicle more quickly and reduce the strain on your AC system.
Side note: If your car has been sitting in the sun, it’s better to roll the windows down and turn off recirculation for the first minute or so. This allows the superheated air inside to escape before you turn the recirculation on.
Additionally, anytime you’re stuck in traffic—whether it’s summer or winter—be sure to use the recirculation feature. If you’re pulling air from outside, you’re also pulling in pollutants and carbon monoxide from the traffic around you. Studies show that using the recirculation feature can reduce the amount of pollutants entering your vehicle by 20% when you’re stuck in traffic.

Have you ever owned a cat? If you have you know how independent they can be, and how each cat is so very different. While dogs are all over you, a cat will pick and choose when to give affection and when not too. They are actually a good reminder to put ourselves first every once and a while and take care of ourselves like a cat would. They know when to nap, snack, play and bathe, and nothing stops them. You can’t make a cat do anything! While a dog is waiting, ready to please.

It’s a personal preference whether you prefer cats or dogs. Frankly we have both and the dynamics between them are so fun to watch! Once minute Penelope is chasing a cat, the next they are snuggled up on the bed together, so fun to watch and be a part of.

Depending on where you are at in your life, a cat might be better if you are out a lot, as they are more independent than dogs. Either way I find pets to be a wonderful addition to our family as the bring us so much joy.

What about you, do you have a pet? What is it? What’s your favourite thing about your pet?

Do you have a dog? Does anyone you know have a dog? Have you ever spent quality time with a dog? If you have you will totally understand the benefits of being around dogs, even if you don’t have one.

If you don’t know anyone with a dog, perhaps you could volunteer at a local shelter – I hear they are bursting at the seams, so any help would likely be appreciated. They also are looking for foster homes (temp homes) until they can place those pups, so what a great way to give back. If we didn’t have 3 pets already, we’d be all over that.

What about dogs make you happy?

Go back and think about your New Year's Resolution you set for 2025. How is that coming along or has it dropped off your day-to-day routine?

Don't feel bad, we have discovered it's not unusual for us to be all excited about the New Year, as we set often lofty goals, that really are not reasonable or practicable, so we end up giving up on them completely, often feeling worse about ourselves than when we started. Sound familiar? Well enough! Time to get off that old cycle and try something new. But first do you resonate with any of these reasons to fall off your new year's resolutions?

• Lack of motivation
• Impatient to see results
• Unrealistic goals
• Lack of planning
• No accountability so why bother
• All or nothing mentality
• You're not adaptable

Well feel better about yourself right now, because all of this is common, and there is no point beating yourself up over it. There is however, a better way.

Benefits of routine
Do you have a routine for self-care? Most of us have our morning routine, get up, use the facility, brush your teeth, have a shower or bath, get ready for work…. But beyond what we HAVE TO DO, do you have a personal self-care routine?

For many of us it’s hit and miss. We use the old saying “when I have time, I will do it”. Well does extra time just present itself, or do you have to plan for it? Chances are you need to plan for it and make it happen.

Not sure where to start? Start with baby steps, whether it’s something physical like exercise or eating an apple day, set yourself up for success by choosing something that is manageable and something you like! How many times have you found yourself doing something you “should” instead of something you love? For me that would be jogging, lol. If I were to make myself go jogging every day, it wouldn’t be long before it would fall off my routine, so make sure it’s something you enjoy.

Remember my definition of self-care is “doing something that makes your heart sing, and causes no harm.” Based on this there has to be something or somewhere you can start.

Not sure where to start? Check out my “Become a Self-Care Genius” online membership now open at www.rebeccafuller.ca and let’s journey together to find what you love.
