Over 30 drop in classes a week for all levels and abilities. Yogadotcalm is a warm and welcoming community where individuals come to share, inspire and practice yoga. We approach the yoga practice with a light heart and an open mind. The variety of classes that we offer are facilitated by a strong faculty of teachers, most of whom have over 500 hours of training and many years of experience. We welcome all students, from the seasoned practitioner to the brand new yogi. The calm setting of our studio is complimented by big picture windows, which bring in the light and inspiration necessary to the art of yoga practice. We are so pleased to welcome back the deep and healing practice of Yoga Nidra to our monthly schedule.
Yoga Nidra is a practice that addresses our essential need for rest and replenishment in a more complete and expansive way than we might receive through other forms of relaxation or even regular sleep. The intentional guidance of the practice creates space for us to move into a state of true rest and enter deeply into our parasympathetic (rest & digest) nervous system. When we are in a state of true rest, we can:
🟠 Return our internal systems to their original states and recover from our fight & flight/stress response mode
🟠Digest and process our experiences, stories, and emotions
🟠Deepen our capacity for regulation and presence
🟠Connect with and expand our relationship with ourselves

Recently a long-time student returned to class after being away from the studio for a few years. After class, dewy and relaxed from their first class back, I asked if it was just as they remembered. They replied with a calm smile and a knowing look, "I forgot what it feels like to be here".

The time on our mat is truly unique and impactful, it can really shape our day, nurture a compassionate and peaceful mindset, and provide a beautiful reprieve from the stresses of the world, and yet, it becomes so easy to get side tracked. To put off our yoga class, and subsequently our well-being, for another day. Why are we so quick to forget how much benefit we can gain from some time on our mat? Why are we so quick to believe that other things are so much more important?

We don't have the answers to these questions (and we experience these struggles too!), but we are so grateful to be the landing place when you do make the time for yourself. May this be a gentle reminder, or the little nudge, to welcome you back to your mat.

Sometimes we need a different perspective.
Whether it's flipping your view in a handstand or pausing in child's pose, yoga teaches us how we can view things from a variety of angles (both literally and figuratively 😊). Clarity often comes when we can soften our grip and open to new possibilities.
