Now that the holiday season is winding down, it’s a great time to check in with yourself and your mental health.

Here are some tips to help you beat the post-holiday blues:

➡️ Ease back into routine. Re-establish regular sleep, meals, and movement
➡️ Stay connected. Reach out to friends, family, or coworkers. Social connection matters after a busy season.
➡️Set small, realistic goals. Focus on one or two manageable goals to avoid feeling overwhelmed in the new year.

If you need support, your primary care provider, PCN or a trusted member of your health team can help connect you with supports and resources.🤍

🧣🧤 Keep warm and dress in layers to protect against frostbite and hypothermia.
💊 Maintain your medication routine—don’t let winter disrupt your schedule.

🩺 Monitor symptoms closely and reach out to your healthcare provider if anything changes.

The holidays can be joyful, but they can also feel lonely for some. We spoke with Heather Hooge, a PCN Social Worker, who shared a few simple ways to stay connected and care for yourself this holiday season:

❄️ Get involved with local community events
❄️ Say hello to a neighbour or lend a helping hand
❄️ Practice self-care and use healthy coping strategies
❄️ Volunteer or donate to a cause you care about
❄️ Join a group like a choir, book club, or community dinner
❄️ Create your own holiday traditions

If you’re struggling, reach out for support. Talk to your primary care provider to learn more about resources available to you.

Help is always available with crisis lines available 24 hours a day, including the 403-266-HELP (4357)

Let’s check in on one another this season and make sure no one feels alone. 💛
