New grad announcement!

Introducing Jasmine (Jazz) Rusu! She just completed her certification with honours in my Equine-assisted Social-emotional Skills Strengthening©️ method for children and teens! It was an absolute honour to receive her as my first graduate in the paediatric course. Her equine colleagues are Sage and Freya!

Jazz has over ten years of experience as a helper, working in the fields of youth corrections and mental health. She is the owner/operator of Creative Wellness Counselling where she works as a mental health therapist, and will now be adding equine-assisted programming to her practice. Jazz practices on Treaty 1 territory in the areas of Oakbank and Cooks Creek, MB. She has fallen in love with equine-assisted interventions, and is currently completing her Equigrounding©️ certification as well!

On top of being qualified to the nines, Jazz is a mom and foster mom to 2 beautiful daughters. She exudes warmth and compassion, and recognizes the importance of honouring the unique spiritual blueprint of all beings.

Welcome to the family Jazz! Manitobans, you are in for a treat!

Starting this September 2025! An alternative to day programs for young adults aged 18-25 years with mild to moderate cognitive impairment!

My name is Marianne Disipio, and I am a mother of a young lady with mild-moderate cognitive impairment. My dedication to ensuring my daughter’s successful integration into the community as she enters adulthood has illuminated the necessity for tailored programs that address the unique needs of individuals in this demographic. The existing funded day programs for special needs tend to group individuals with varying levels of needs, making it difficult to provide meaningful experiences for those who fit into this category. I feel it is important to offer an alternative for young adults who find themselves somewhere in between levels of need and functioning. Ensuring a satisfying quality of life while cultivating a sense of autonomy and self-worth is a top priority!

With a background in Occupational Therapy, Wellness Coaching, Equine-assisted Support©, Yoga Instruction, and Expressive Arts, combined with my experience as a service provider with FSCD under Behavioural Developmental Support, I possess a wealth of knowledge and skills that uniquely qualify me to create a quality program. AND, I have a beautiful acreage, a charming home, a large garden, horses, a studio, and an upcoming book exchange shop to offer a unique experience!

If you are interested in learning more for a young adult in your life, please send me a private message with your email address so I can give you more details and invite you to an online info session. You must attend the info session before booking an in-person meeting and tour!

It is with a fragile heart that I would like to share with you that my sweet Welsh Pony Chance (registered name, Here Comes the Sun), left this Earth for the big wide open field in the sky, this February, a day after my birthday. It took me this long to announce it because the loss has been so huge.

Unfortunately, Chance succumbed to complications from his progressive metabolic disorder, and there was nothing we could have done. He died peacefully surrounded by both his human and equine families, and literally left with a smile on his face, and love in his heart. I know it was his time, even though I wish he could’ve stayed with us forever. Now he’s joined his partner in crime, Gailen 🐴❤️

To have known Chance, is to have loved Chance. He had a full life and made an incredible difference in so many children’s lives. He was actually the horse who gently “alerted” us that my daughter was experiencing seizure activity. He played a paramount role in our lives. He was my family.

Chance also enjoyed entertaining my yoga clients during warm summer evenings as we practiced on the deck. His happy-go-lucky demeanour was always so delightful. Now, every time we see golden sun rays piercing through the trees when we practice outside this summer, we will think of his beautiful blonde mane.

Chance has sent us many signs already, and the herd is now doing well. ❤️🐴

RIp little buddy. I still call out your name with the rest of the herd when I forget sometimes, and in the morning when I put out the grain, I always think of you xoxo

On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities, I want to acknowledge one of the most wonderful humans I have ever encountered on this planet. Her name is Penny Coleman and she is pure light.

For years now, Penny has dedicated herself to empowering young girls and young ladies with disabilities to shine bright with confidence in a world that beats at a fast pace often leaving them behind.

On her own time, which she gives so freely on a completely volunteer basis, Penny pours her heart and soul in assuring that these wonderful girls have a place to belong.

My daughter has a better quality of life because of Penny. The world is a better place because of Penny. Penny exudes love and compassion and you can feel it. It is palpable. I’ve told her this many times, but today I want to formally shout it out to the world and honour her in the way she so deserves ❤️

How lucky are we to have such an exceptional person living among us here in our own city of Calgary!! Thank you, Penny! You truly are an earth angel and I speak on behalf of everyone when I say that you are so loved and appreciated ❤️

I remember thinking I would never have my life back…

To be honest, sometimes I still feel frustrated. My daughter with special needs is 18 years old now, and we are transitioning into adulthood. I need my separate life and interests more than ever. Thank goodness I've got a little thing going for me, and it was only possible at a certain time in her journey. I finally had some time to cry, breathe, and think. I completely reinvented myself. How? Well, this is what I am ready to share with 4 moms! I have 3 spots left in my 4 week course Uncovering Your Heart's Desire! It's ok if you have no clue what you want anymore. That’s the whole premise of this course. Whether it’s recreational or not. I developed a 10-step process and yes, it absolutely includes accessing the magic of my herd and accessing your intuition.
