The final round of the mindfulness-based cancer recovery (MBCR) programs for the Mindful-Gut Study is set to begin this fall, with programs starting in mid-September and mid-October!

If you wish to participate, please contact Jamie at jamie.petersson@ucalgary.ca to see if you qualify! If you have experienced gastrointestinal or mental health challenges due to cancer and its treatments, are 18+ years of age, and have completed primary cancer treatments within the last 5 years, you may be eligible to participate. We are only accepting participants who live in Calgary for this final cohort, since the researcher (Jamie) will be in her Ph.D. Candidacy and unable to drive far to pick up samples from participants homes. We are excited to invite people living with cancer in Southern Alberta to participate in our study! We are currently recruiting for our second last round of the mindfulness-based cancer recovery (MBCR) program beginning the last week of April!
This is a unique opportunity to get your gut microbiome sequenced for free! Plus, you can participate in the study from the comfort of your home!
Many individuals experience ongoing gastrointestinal and mental health challenges long after cancer treatments. There is a lack of solutions to address these problems and this study hopes to see if a mindfulness program could be a solution.
If you have experienced these challenges, are 18+ years of age, and have completed primary cancer treatments within the last 5 years, you may be eligible to participate. Please contact Jamie at jamie.petersson@ucalgary.ca to see if you qualify!
