Here’s why perimenopause can feel so disruptive to your busy life:

It doesn’t suddenly remove your capacity - it changes how much is COSTS to sustain the output you’re used to.

And one of the MOST DAMAGING narratives around perimenopause is that it makes women fragile. Difficult. Dare I say…broken in ways that don’t make sense.

NONE of that is true.

Maybe you’re noticing that putting in the same amount of effort each day is leading to:

• more need to rest or recover

• less acceptance or resilience when you don’t get proper support

• fewer moments where you feel 100% in control of your work, life, body and health

After 35, fat gain is not always a result of eating too much or “not trying hard enough.”

The #1 cause of unexplained weight/fat?

Stress.

Here’s what that looks like👇

Your body stores fat when it doesn’t feel safe.

Not emotionally unsafe.
Biologically unsafe.

That can happen when:

👉 Stress is high (even the productive, high-functioning kind)
👉 Hormones are shifting (hello perimenopause)
👉 Food looks “healthy” but isn’t giving your body what it actually needs
👉 Detox pathways are overloaded
👉 Blood sugar is spiking and crashing daily

Example:
Oatmeal or sugar-free cereal for breakfast might sound healthy…
But when estrogen starts changing, your insulin response changes too.

That innocent bowl of oats can spike blood sugar → increase inflammation → signal fat storage.

Same with:
❌Gluten-free crackers
❌Low-calorie snacks
❌Processed “health foods”
❌Eating less instead of eating better

Your body reads this as:

📣“We’re under stress. Resources are unstable. Store energy.”

Fat can act like a temporary storage closet when your system is overwhelmed; it’s just trying to protect you.

That closet fills fast… and empties slowly… unless the root cause is addressed.

I see so many posts about how hard perimenopause is supposed to be…

and I’ll be honest — I don’t relate.

I’m 47 with…

No hot flashes.
No brain fog.
No sleep issues.
No PMS.
My words still show up on demand.
My body still responds when I ask it to.

“You’re only 42, you can’t be in perimenopause yet.”
—Tell that to my body!

The myth that you’re “too young” to be experiencing perimenopause…total BS!

With today’s nonstop stressors – work deadlines, family pressure, social obligations – your body is constantly borrowing resources it needs to keep hormones balanced and energy high.

And let’s not even start on the “masking” tools: HRT, ashwagandha drinks, turmeric + ginger shots, fad diet trends – they hide symptoms but don’t fix the root cause.

All this is happening because the real problem is getting ignored:

“Oh, when you’re my age, you’ll have all these problems too…”

I’ve heard that from sooooo many women over the years…

But here’s the thing: at 47, I don’t have any of the perimenopause symptoms that 90% of women are complaining about!

Now, I’ll be real with you… over the past 4 years, I did experience a few things:

🫩Morning grogginess—even after a solid 8-hour sleep

😶‍🌫️Brain fog that basically body-checks me out of my chair into a 2-hour nap

👹 A period that shows up whenever it feels like it, while my insides feel like The Hulk is doing gymnastics in there
