Did you know that storing your medications incorrectly can reduce their effectiveness? Here are some quick storage tips to keep in mind:

-Store most medications at room temperature (15–25°C)
-Avoid storing in the bathroom — heat and humidity can break down your medications
-Keep medications away from direct sunlight
-Always store medications out of reach of children, and follow the directions on the label

Hang out with a Porcupine! Meet a sloth! Hop with baby kangaroos! All this and more at the Nutrien Event Centre's Wildlife Festival this Saturday - Monday.

Check out Chinook Blast all weekend long at the Eau Claire plaza for light and art displays, performances, family-friendly fun, and delicious food.

New this year are The Good Games at the BMO Centre - Canada’s biggest festival of sport, play, and community. For three days, the BMO building will be filled with courts, feature matches, kids' play zones, adaptive sports, Indigenous sports and cultural experiences, music, and food.

Cancer is more than a medical diagnosis; it’s a deeply personal experience. Together, we can create a world where every person’s unique needs and views are recognised and supported through person-centered care.

Hey Calgary adventurers! With summer in full swing, we know you're out exploring the beautiful Rockies. As you hit the trails, keep an eye out for ticks. Apart from bringing chills down your spine and making you gag at the thought of them, they can carry Lyme disease and other illnesses with long-lasting health effects.

Here’s how to stay tick-free: Dress smart with long sleeves and pants, and tuck your pants into your socks. Stick to the center of trails and steer clear of tall grass and brush where ticks can hide. Apply a good insect repellent with DEET to help keep them at bay.

When you get home, check yourself, family, and pets for ticks, especially under your arms and behind your knees. A shower post-hike is also a good way to wash off any that haven’t latched on yet.

A tick removal kit is great to have, especially if you hike frequently. If you find a tick, your priority is to safely remove, store, and bring the tick to your doctor for testing. Early detection of potential illness can make a huge difference. You can pick these up at our pharmacy or at any outdoor equipment store such as MEC or Canadian Tire.

Not-so-fun fact: You've probably heard of the lone-star tick (the one responsible for red meat allergy) that primarily lives in eastern USA and Mexico - but did you know that they have been found in the southern regions of AB, MB, NS, ON, QC, SK?
