Our heartfelt thanks to the Canadian Energy Executive Association, Modern Miracle Network and YP Link (Energy in Calgary): a collaboration of the Young Professionals in Energy (YPE) - Calgary Chapter, Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Calgary Section, WPC Energy Canada, Young Women in Energy (YWE) and Young Energy Infrastructure Professionals (YEIP) of Canada for organizing the Beyond Boomers event last week ๐๐
The panel, featuring Chris Slubicki, Michelle Okere, CFRE, Hon. Minister Rebecca Schulz, and Marcus Rocque, engaged in a powerful discussion on critical topics, including Canadaโs reputation as a trusted energy partner, the effects of tariffs, opportunities for Indigenous business investment, the evolving Canada-US relationship, and the rising global demand for energy ๐ข๏ธโก๐
๐ Our Vice President, Joel Biftu, P.Eng., shared, โThe industry is listening! Many companies are asking for Young Professionals to be included in the discussion of energy investment, development, and security.โ
๐ญ๐ In the opening remarks, our President & CEO, Ishrat Oishee, alongside the Chair of โ74 CEEA, Alex Fulthorpe P.Eng, conveyed a powerful message. Ishrat emphasized, โEvents such as todayโs event, where we make sure that cross-generational knowledge and thought transfer is taking place, are not just important; itโs vital for the responsible stewardship of the industry.โ
Canada holds an incredible abundance of energy resources that can significantly contribute to solving the worldโs energy security challenges. As a significant player in the global energy industry, Canada has the potential to reshape its image as a reliable and steadfast energy partner on the world stage ๐๐ฟ
Advancing energy projects in Canada can significantly contribute to global emission reduction efforts โ๏ธ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฟ Itโs essential to recognize that if a project were to be halted in Canada, it might still move forward in other parts of the world where regulations may not be as stringent. By fostering development within Canada, we can ensure that sustainable practices are prioritized while still addressing energy needs.
