Hey everyone! 🌈 We're celebrating the beauty of neurodiversity this month!

At Northwest Psychology, we really believe that every mind is unique and wonderful. For Autism Acceptance Month, we want to focus on the incredible strengths and perspectives that neurodivergent folks bring to our community here in Calgary.

Neurodiversity isn't something to "fix": it's a different, valuable way of experiencing the world. Our goal is to provide a safe, no-judgment space in NW Calgary where everyone can feel heard and supported for exactly who they are.

Whether you're looking for therapy for yourself, your child, or your family, our collaborative team is here to help you navigate those life transitions with evidence-based care.

Let’s celebrate all the different ways our minds work! 💙✨

Is your child ready to join the "Hero League"? 🦸‍♂️✨

For many kids, traditional summer camps can feel like a daunting mission. That’s why Northwest Psychology is hosting a Superhero Summer Camp specifically designed for children ages 8–12 who thrive in smaller, more supportive environments.

Led by a Registered Psychologist and neurodiversity-affirming facilitators, our campers will:

🛡️ Train in the "Hero League" (social skills as secret weapons!)
🤝 Practice teamwork, perspective-taking, and emotional regulation
🌳 Enjoy daily outdoor training and sensory breaks
✨ Build confidence in a space where every child’s "superpower" is celebrated.

📅 Dates: July 27 – 31, 2026
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM
📍 Location: Northwest Psychology Clinic - Calgary, AB

Spaces are strictly limited to ensure individualized support. Help your child find their squad this summer!

April is Autism Awareness Month.

At Northwest Psychology, we believe awareness should lead to understanding, respect, and meaningful support.

This month, we’re holding space for autistic people of all ages and the families who love them.

A few reminders:
- Autism is not one story
- Communication can look different for everyone
- Support should be shaped around the person, not a checklist
- Acceptance matters every day, not just in April

If you’re a parent, teen, or adult looking for a safe, neuro-affirming space, we’re here to help.

April 2 is Autism Awareness Day, and April is Autism Awareness Month.

At Northwest Psychology, we believe autism awareness means more than recognition — it means listening, learning, and creating space for neurodivergent people to be understood as they are.

This month, we’re holding onto a few important reminders:
• Autism is a spectrum, and every person’s needs are different
• Support should be respectful, individualized, and affirming
• Communication, sensory needs, and daily routines can all matter deeply
• Acceptance creates room for confidence, connection, and growth

We’re here to support children, teens, and adults with care that honors each person’s strengths and challenges.

If you or your family are looking for a safe, supportive place to talk, we’re here.

A bright, encouraging post can do more than catch the eye — it can offer a moment of hope, reassurance, and calm.

At Northwest Psychology, we believe support should feel safe, warm, and real.

Whether you’re a parent trying to make sense of your child’s behavior, a teen navigating big feelings, or an adult carrying a lot at once, you deserve care that meets you where you are.

You do not have to hold it all alone.

A little self-care can go a long way. 💛

Today, try choosing one small thing that helps you feel a bit more grounded:
- Step outside for fresh air
- Drink some water
- Put your phone down for 10 minutes
- Take a slow breath before moving on to the next thing

Self-care does not have to be perfect or time-consuming. It just needs to be kind.

If you’re looking for more supportive tools and resources, ewr .

Some days, support looks like a big breakthrough.
Some days, it looks like getting through the day with a little more steadiness than yesterday.

That still counts.

At Northwest Psychology, we believe healing can be soft, steady, and real.
A safe space.
A caring conversation.
A place to feel seen without having to mask who you are.

If you or someone you love needs support, we’re here.

It’s okay if your path looks different.

What matters is that you’re moving, even if it’s in small, quiet ways.

Take a moment to notice what you have carried, faced, and made it through.

Progress doesn’t have to be loud to be meaningful.
Every small step forward is worth celebrating. 💛

If you’re needing support along the way, we’re here.
