There's about 12 weeks left of 2025!

If your benefits turn over at year end, now might be the time to book ahead and get the time slots you want, treat those pains you've been ignoring, and make the most of your health spending allotments.

Also, it's super cozy in here.

As an active person in a physical job, what is my muscle care routine?

I move my body with purpose 5-6 days a week. Sometimes I need a bit more recovery than I used to, and I decide to walk instead of a "workout."

Half of the year I mostly run and weightlift, and half of the year I mostly bike, hike, run, and weightlift. (Which actually means running and weightlifting take a back-seat to hikes and bikes).

*Soon I will transition out of the hike/bike season and head into run/lift season.

There's generally always something tight, but it's always worse without activity. What do I do to support my body and activities?

▪︎Stretch: I have a 10-minute routine I do after running or gym time...which I am not so good at after biking or hiking.

▪︎Massage: I try and get a massage every month. This doesn't always happen, but mostly it does.

▪︎Physio and Chiro: I see a Physio for shock wave and IMS needling, as needed. And Chiro for active release, adjustments, and graston, as needed also.

▪︎Sleep: I am not a great sleeper, but I certainly do keep a regular schedule of bed and wake time. (And honestly, I wake up super early regardless of when I go to bed, so staying up late just isn't worth it to me).

▪︎Water: I drink at least 2L of water per day, sometimes more, and often added electrolytes are involved. (I carry water everywhere!)

Recovery is part of training. Supporting an active lifestyle is not just pushing, it's also creating space for repair.

Come and tune out for an hour or so.

Life is busy and often stressful. Taking an hour or two to rest and rejuvenate is not a luxury, it's a necessity.

For those of you who have benefits turning over at year end, it might be time to start thinking about utilizing that coverage and booking ahead.

The last quarter is a busy time, so book ahead and get the days/times you want.

If you don't know what you've used this year, let me know, and I can check.

See you soon.

The most uncomfortable part of my job is enforcing my cancellation policy.

Luckily, I rarely have to. I am not the most confrontational person, and it's not the most pleasant thing to discuss.

But here's the thing; This is my business. This is my income. It is my time and time that another client could have come. It is projected income that disappears.

Things happen. People get sick, work days get out of hand, and schedules change. But an appointment is a promise. Not many things are emergencies that fall outside of a 24-hour notice opportunity.

Most personal services and healthcare providers have policies on place for no-shows or late cancellations because these things directly impact our income and schedule.

*My policy is listed on my website, in the appointment confirmation email, and in the reminder email received 24 hours before the appointment time.

As an anniversary treat, I am excited to offer a fun giveaway this month.

There are many wonderful businesses in Inglewood, and I grabbed a handful of gift cards to offer up as a way to celebrate my own business and have a randomly drawn prize. ($110 value!)

I will randomly select from all clients who visit in the month of September, on October 1st, and contact the winner directly.

I'm super happy to offer a gift and a fun way to honor this neighborhood and my clients. Good luck and see you soon.
