MedGar Home Care is currently seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver to work with a child diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (CP).
Position Details:
Location: Lake Chaparral, Calgary
Client: Child with CP
Part-time / Extended hours during school breaks
Schedule:
School Days:
Monday to Friday
6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Plus weekends
School Breaks / Summer:
7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Plus weekends
Responsibilities
Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort
Provide patient care including medication administration and health monitoring under supervision or as trained
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
Support clients with mobility and transfer assistance, including heavy lifting when required
Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
Document care provided and report any changes in health status to supervisors or healthcare professionals
Follow all safety protocols and adhere to confidentiality standards in all interactions
Requirements
Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice care, or home care is preferred; experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia is a plus
Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills
Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks safely
Knowledge of medication administration and patient care procedures is desirable
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Valid certification or training in caregiving or nursing assistance is advantageous but not mandatory
Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, or weekends as needed
Must be reliable, patient-focused, and committed to providing high-quality care
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
