Shoveling snow may seem simple, but it’s easy to overdo it and hurt yourself. Your body will tell you when something’s wrong—so listen closely!

If you feel any discomfort or pain while shoveling:

✅ Stop immediately. Pain is a signal that your body is under strain, and pushing through it could cause serious injury.

✅ Take a break if you feel fatigued, and rest for 15-20 minutes.

Want to avoid back pain while shoveling snow this winter? Follow these simple tips to protect your spine:

🔥 Warm Up First:
Take 5-10 minutes to stretch or do light cardio to get your muscles ready for the task. Cold, stiff muscles are more prone to injury.

♠️ Use the Right Shovel:
Choose a lightweight shovel with an ergonomic handle that helps reduce strain. A shovel with an “S” curve will be gentler on your body than a straight, heavy one.

🏋️ Lift with Your Legs, Not Your Back:
Bend at your hips and knees, keep your back straight, and use your legs to lift the snow. Avoid bending or twisting at your waist!

⏳ Pace Yourself:
Shoveling is a workout! Take breaks every 15-20 minutes to rest and hydrate.
By following these tips, you can shovel safely and reduce your risk of injury!
