Calling all ladies!

Friday April 4th @7:30pm- 9pm, myself and Pam Groulx, fellow Holistic Nutrition Consultant, will be hosting an in person gathering where we will be speaking on Peri-menopause/menopause and the role our microbiome can play in this phase of life .

We’ll be speaking about certain foods and the roles they play, how they contribute to alleviating or aggravating your symptoms, lifestyle habits and strategies, and some key nutritional supports that you may benefit from.

We’ll be serving some delicious and nutritious snacks, beautiful teas and some recipe takeaways for you to try at home.

Massage Therapy is more than just for relaxation or muscle recovery.

Did you know that receiving a massage can also help to support our mental health by calming the nervous system, reducing feelings of anxiety and depression. By calming the body, we can calm the mind, allowing stress to dissolve.

By calming the nervous system, digestion ramps up, promoting better digestive processes. Massage promotes better blood circulation, providing much needed nutrients and oxygen to tissues. Research is showing us that the health reach that massage has goes far beyond a relaxing treat.

Providing the body and mind an opportunity to rest while stimulating better circulation and promoting healthier digestion all work toward a stronger, more resilient and healthier body inside and out.

PAIN!
pain is pain! It just plain hurts.
Well, that’s very true, but stating the obvious, that untreated acute pain can turn into a chronic issue, and thus becomes possibly more challenging to treat.

The good news is that from a massage therapy perspective, we can treat both, but technique and frequency of treatment will be different. Pain patterns can be challenging to reverse, but they can be reversed and eliminated with the right approach.

If you are struggling with pain patterns that aren’t resolving and would like to see if a soft tissue approach is right for you, book in to see me and we can discuss some approaches.

The body struggles to heal itself if pain is part of the picture. If we address the pain, we can then address the root of the injury and get you on the path to healing!

How are you feeling lately?

Is massage a tool you use to help with stress and pain?

Regular massage can have a significant impact on your body’s ability to manage pain and stress in your body.

Encouraging your nervous system to move out of your Sympathetic response “fight or flight” and into your Parasympathetic response “rest and digest” encourages healing in the body and the mind.

If massage therapy isn’t something you’ve tried as part of your wellness protocols, I highly recommend you give it a try!

How to find a therapist?
- ask around to those you trust
- read reviews of local clinics and therapists
- call the therapist and ask them directly what kind of work they do and what there specialties are.
