Energy Safety Canada Alive training presents the dangers and safeguards of hydrogen sulphide (H2S). Designed for workers in the oil and gas industry, it discusses the physical properties of H2S as well as the , protection methods, and basic techniques. Students receive classroom instruction plus practical training that includes rescue-breathing exercises, rescue lift-and-drag exercises and hands-on experience with both a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and a tube-type gas detector. Do you work in atmospheres requiring respirator protection? Did you know that in order to be correctly fit tested, you essentially can't have any facial hair? It's important to realize how much facial hair can effect the fit of your mask. If it doesn't seal, it doesn't protect you. Make sure that when you get a fit test, you are clean shaven. Without the proper fit, your mask could expose you to hazards. Fit testing is required before a user wears a mandatory respirator on the job. Here are some great ways to ensure respiratory health for you and your team:
-No facial hair/clean shaven during your fit test
-Valid Fit Test Certificate
-Respiratory Protective Equipment Training
-Pulmonary Function Testing
-Effective maintenance of respiratory protective equipment
